Do NOT, repeat, do NOT download the free Comodo Firewall! I downloaded that thing after reading a good recommendation of it. After it fouled up everything it could, I tried to delete it. It knocked me off the internet and canceled System Restore.

When you turn it off, it turns itself back on automatically. Forums on Comodo agree that it damages your system when you un-install, and you often have to reformat. The "Add and Remove" function tells you that it is already uninstalled and offers to remove all references to it. I deleted it piece by piece, but some active parts would not delete, even when I re-booted.

My smart wife uninstalled and re-installed my modem and reloaded Comodo in order to get me back on the internet.
