Exclamation Widescreen Rig Players!?!?! Need input!

TQ:IT And 22" Widescreen LCDS...Whats the best FPS?

(Note: Please don't think this is the best setup to do on any computer. NO! If you have a similar setup as mine you may agree with me or not if this helped you! Congrats to anyone who can do better than this! Thanks, GoreMaster!)

So obviously I dont have a high end comp or a low end comp so its more than recommend to play this game at high settings but I can not for some reason can only play on Med settings (Thats ALL No boxes checked besides fullscreen) Max settings are to hard on the FPS For me to fully enjoy it but im still testing and seeing whats the best. Also thanks to the TQ:IT Fan Patch has helped these tests a whole lot more! Thanks you Guys!

Purpose for testing:
Testing to see if having your desktop set to your native screen and at it highest Refresh rate
(My Native 1680x1050 MAX RES. 60 Hz)
or
Testing to see if having your desktop set to a Resolution with a higher Refresh Rate
(Resolution 1440x900 MAX RES. 75 Hz)
and
Testing to see what resolutions work best with playing TQ:IT With the most recent Fan Patch
Note:
Testing only at the begginning of the path to Typhon then to the stairs right before Typhon (LOL My char elementalist lvl 34 has a hard time killing him, but I do kill him but it takes like 30 mins!)

**This was the best setting for me. IMO it has great AVG, MIN, and MAX**
I am goin to do another test with the settings i chose im goin to actually see if it can handle fighting typhon!

Edit: I managed to squeeze enough time to do the whole Typhon fight(Noticed this I died twice and still managed to have a good looking game and great fps. Ignore the Min. because when you die and starts to load it puts it down zero)

I'm confused why you're posting this. Seems like common sense really, have a lower end gaming machine? Lower the resolution and turn down the detail settings.

Am I missing something here?

Hmm your right Sanchez. Well the main purpose for this is I wanted to see if anyone else had the same setup as mine or similar and i wanted to know what is the FPS like? Sorry for the misunderstanding! Also supposedly the best resolution to play games on is the Monitors native resolution! So basically i tested that theory out! you get it now?

Also does it look like a i have a low end comp? tell me? i dont think i do i kno its not the best but its up there right? i mean why else spend a good grand on a comp!

Not really. As far as "gaming machines" go it's pretty much low end of the middle.

A grand? When did you pick this up? I bought the same hardware setup about 2 years ago for my daughters PC and paid about $ 700 total. Her's has got a 7950GT though.

Well I bought a lot more than just the Computer it self. Hmm well I guess this made sense for me to do :P. Lol well this sux. Hmm well i bought this game like a week ago. I noticed that the game lags and has issues. So i thought hmm is it my comp? Ive played many games on high settings like Half life 2 on my comp and did not have this problem with sluggish game play. I soon found out that the game has issues because the creators were out of business so they couldnt really fix anything. So I researched and found the TQ Fan patch and those patches helped the game tremendously with the lagging issues. I just want to know if anyone is on the same page with me for this game. Thats all. Ive tried playing the game on the lowest of the low and has the same FPS on either Low med or High (on high only when the screen gets filled with mobs does it start to show its uglyness) So basically i just wanted to kno if you guys had a solution or is there anything i can do to help my gaming for this game. Ive done alot of researching to find the best solutions but not satisfied for what i have found.

A better video card will help tons as far as the lag.

I started playing this game on a 6800GT, upgraded to a 7600 for a day (wasn't powerful enough), then settled on a 7800GS. That card failed within a month so I upgraded again to a 7950GT. That was a while back. You're CPU is ok, RAM is sufficient but the card is very dated. You can pick up a 8800GT for around $ 150 - 180 now and that will allow you to turn all in game settings to max at the native resolution with no lag or stuttering.

I'm currently using an 8800GT while I await the RMA of my GTX280 (overheating).

FWIW, the game will have some lag in spots no matter what you do especially if you run the xmax mod. I have 8gb of ram, vista 64, nvidia 8800gts 512mb, and a 3.2 dual core intel. I run 1680x1050 on my 22 inch samsung widescreen. I will have lag in spots and other lag due to background apps at times, but all in all decent.

8800GT 512mb is the best bang for the buck atm I think

per price/performance ratio...imo

Have an EVGA that I throughly love and TQ is smooth as silk in almost all places.

But as you found out GM a lower rez with normally equate to higher FPS, though I would never play at a refreash rate lower than 70 ever

TQ has it's lag spots but it also has a ton of stuff going on in real time, add the physics and it's a pretty demanding game...well worth the cost of getting the right parts to run it properly imo

With your system I personally would run this setting:

2008-08-09 17:33:04 - Tqit 1600x900 Med Set. (Desktop 1440x900 75Hz)
Frames: 12123 - Time: 202353ms - Avg: 59.910 - Min: 33 - Max: 90

Regards & Good hunting!
