Default Working fix for crystal room stuttering

I've made a fix for the crystal room stuttering. Get the attached zip and extract it to the Database dir in your TQ IT install dir. So, your Database dir should now contain an xpack\quests\scripted scene_hadespalace.qst file as well.

The stuttering seems to be caused by the crystal zapper "quest", which constantly gives and removes some quest tokens (which generates some file operation). So, I simply removed the crystal zappers. Nothing else is affected (I hope).

If you have some problems with it, or a real patch from IL is finally out (...), simply delete xpack\quests\scripted scene_hadespalace.qst.

Is this the Tower of Judgement you're talking about (Sorry, completely new to IT).

My game runs fine, but as soon as I set foot in the Tower of Judgment, my harddisk goes nuts. Wonder if this fix is for that issue, or for somewhere else.

Creston, the stutter is the crystal room is similar to the one in the Tower of Judgement. The crystal room is located at the very end of the game, just before you get to the final boss. I don't want to tell you more so I don't spoil the game surprises

Is there a way to connect your fix with the tower of judgement? I will try the file

Thanks for replying, I had realised that after I had read a few of the rubberbanding/stuttering threads. I had edited my original post to say so, but apparently it didn't get saved.

I didn't check the quest files which could cause the Tower of Judgement stuttering, because there is a workaround for that.

I can't find the thread now, but someone suggested that if you wait in front of the Tower of Judgement entrance until the walking souls reach the entrance and disappear, there will be no stuttering. It worked for me.

But since I had no workaround for the crystal room problem, I had to find the solution myself.

There is a workaround for the crystal room. It doesn't remove it from scratch but at least you can make it dissapear before you reach Hades. Just blaze through the crystal room, stand before the throne room, teleport to Elysium, wait till the stuttering stops (usually a few seconds), teleport back to the throne room, and stuttering is gone!!

Thanks for your tip, it seems to do the trick as well.

I'll use my solution though, I don't want Hades to wait too much for me.

This works perfectly for me. My first legendary Hades run with this fix was smooth as silk.

Oddly, I also took my first death in over 100 runs. Go figure....
