Not so weird if perhaps DirtySanchez has a disc controller that takes a few percent CPU, rather than the very high values some of the nastier chipsets do. Maybe his system is queueing all those weird disc accesses the game does in the Tower. I don't even believe my own 'explanation'

I don't know that it's not accessing the disc like everyone else is seeing but merely it's not effecting my gameplay enough to make me notice. I've run through the area several times since picking up IT on release day and not once (on 2 different systems minus the GPU's) has it ever remotely acted weird.

I am more curious as to why the developers were asking for a list of running processes more than the disk access. Personally, I have been able to keep my rubber banding under control. I have 28 processes running when I play TQ:IT, but when I fire up the game without ending background tasks, etc (33+ processes) I see the rubber banding after a few minutes (rather 30 to 45 min.).

I plan to see if the user-made patches for areas in IT will improve my play in those areas, but I don't see the extreme rubber banding I read about that everyone else sees, and I have a crappy system (but a very clean system).

I think it had to do with program conflicts and the like. I have typical;y less than 25 processes running when playing TQ but that does include WMP so I can listen to music. I keep a tight ship also. Defrag my HDs if I see red, running processes kept to a minimum, Storage drives for everything but the essential programs, OS reloaded once every 3 months approx, Adware/Spyware scanned every other day, etc.

For the most part, the game runs fantastic for me, but that room is just odd.
It's not a quest like the normal quests you have in the journal, but it's a "scripted scene". Scripted scenes are made in the quest editor similarly to normal quests, so that's why I called it a "quest".

Thumbs up Re: Working fix for crystal room stuttering

Indeed, thanks a lot for the fix (and the one for the Tower of Judgment too). The major issue I had with the game is now gone ...
