As you well know, I live here in the Philippines and was quite hooked up on these genres since d2. I tried convincing my girlfriend (another d2 hardcore player) to try playing TQIT and guess what? She liked it! She asked me to have it installed on her laptop but unfortunately, it's all messed up!
-Some of the floors have black patches on it -Some elements like baskets and plants are missing -Most texts are unreadable/invisible -Monsters are invisible!!!(worst) But the game runs smoothly nonetheless.. It passed the min requirements and the only thing I could think of was maybe because it lacked in terms of memory. Her laptop only had 512mb on it, shared vid of 128mb. I was hoping that this will still run under those circumstances by turning all settings at low and at the lowest possible resolution. So guys, am i right in thinking that it's probably a memory issue? or is there something else? P.S. I hope that this can be fixed cause she's so craving for this game and I don't want to let her down.. Thanks in advance! ![]() |

![]() I can't help you much on the issue though; perhaps it's a linking problem?(do you see a blue-yellow checkerboard pattern all over the place?), but perhaps you should try to reinstall the game? Something might have gone wrong with the initial installation.

I really wanted this game to work on her system cause of all the games I showed her, only 2 of those really got her attention.. This, and KotOR. ![]() |

Of course, there's the occasional rubber banding but only kicks in once every 30mins and/or while in transition from outside to caves. But the game is indeed playable. No problems whatsoever.. (now on my 3rd char) Take note, I somewhat "pimped" my XP:SP2 OS so it would look like vista and that alone eats up about 25% of my memory. Still the game works fine. so maybe it was something else, though I' am certain that having 512mb is indeed the cause of most of the problems.Maybe convincing her on upgrading her laptop will be my next quest! ![]() |

an upgraded machine will help for sure. it can be a mess sometimes trying to debug these games we love to play so much with drivers and versions for this and that and no two pc's exactly alike haha.
you will just have to let her play on yours until she gets hooked enough to go and upgrade hers. |

Though It would also mean I get less playing time cause whenever she starts playing, only lunch and dinner can make her take a break! ![]() |

Laptops.. pfft, buy a desktop, it has better perfomance, is cheaper and more user friendly. The only real problem is that you can't drag it with you like a laptop.

i agree that the desktop is much better but in a pinch when i am away from home or just don't feel like going downstairs i am glad i have my laptop. thats' the only reason i got one. it's easy to run out of maneuvering room on a 15 inch widescreen v/s a 24 inch one. plus a booming 5.1 is so much nicer than stereo.
