My character got reverted?

I've been playing Titan Quest for a while now (I got it a couple weeks back with my bro, great game!) and it's been fun. I've been having a BSOD bug with Titan Quest (my other games work fine), and it's been frustrating me to no end.

But that's not why I'm posting. I crashed a day ago, and I just called it quits for that day. Today, I started TQ up and my character was level 18 with no quests (I logged into my character). I was a little perturbed, so I use the backups in Documents/My Games/Titan Quest/SaveData/Main/...now, I had two different files here. One for my main character (M3cha) and one for my alt (Norsefire). The one that's bugged is M3cha (I'm not bothering with Norsefire right now). I did the whole "Copy the backups and replace the Main ones", and it didn't do squat. Other than now, instead of being in the beginning of the game, I'm in the middle of Greece (before Athens, I think). Now, I was level 25 in Egypt with my brother a night before and now I'm level 18 in Greece?

What gives?

Chances are when you crashed it corrupted your save file (most common cause is using a no cd crack). When this happens the game automatically uses the backup folders copy, aka your lvl18 version. The character file may be mostly intact, it just might not have finished saving the character completely before the crash, if emailed I might be able to fix it but my time lately has been very slim so it might take awhile to get to it. (Only send the player.chr file if you do, that is if you still have it....not the backup.)

The alternative is to use the Defiler's "Level Me Up..." button to get the character to the same level, then you'll just have to redo quests and find new equipment.

Ah, well thanks for your help SoulSeekkor. I've given up and I'm just going to play from my lvl 18.

But since my computer is gettin' fixed for the BSOD that caused the crashes, it'll be a while.
