Titan Quest Will not start AT ALL

I Recently bought Titan Quest online at gamestop.com

I downloaded the file, and installed the game. When everything is installed, i go to click the icon on the desktop to start the game, and nothing happens. Nothing. No error messages, no pop ups, no changes in the screen, nothing. My computer just sits there like a lump on a log. Furthermore, it pretty much freezes up my computer causing me to restart.

At the suggestion of the game company, i turned off all my security programs including my firewall, and tried again. Nothing. I tried turning off pop up blockers, nothing. Defragged, chk disked, Ccleanered, scanned for viruses, adware, spyware, nothing.

I have tried just about everything i can think of, but i get no response. They told me my system requirements may be too low. I think not. Here are my system specs:

OS: Windows Microsoft XP SP3
MOBO: NFORCE 570 SLIT-A (V5.1)
GPU: EVGA Geforce 7950 GT KO
CPU: Intel Pentium D 3.4Ghz Dual Core
PSU: 650w Vortec
Sound: Realtek HD Audio
RAM: 3GB DDR2
HDD: 2x250GB SATA 1x500GB SATA
Optical: CD, DVD

I can't think of any reason the game will not start, and worse off, why it causes my computer to lag so badly that it basically freezes. The company offers a few suggestions, and then offers to refund my money. I want to play the game, not get a refund. This is the only computer in the house that might play this game. If anyone has any ideas please let me know, I'm very frustrated. If you need any more information, let me know, and i will provide it. Thank you.

Anybody have any clues whatsoever? This is a titan quest forum is it not?
