Problems Reinstalling

Hello , Had a bunch of freezing issues, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall the game on my computer. Installed the original TQ alright, then updated to 1.3. Now when I try to install Immortal Throne it gets hung up at

C:/...../THQ/TitanQuestImmortalThrone/patch/TQupdater.exe

My disc drive makes a ton of clicks and whirls for 5 mins, then I come up with

Intallshield has encountered an error.

The installation is then in a dead freeze.

I played the crap outta my IT disc so about halfway into the disc it looks kina like a worn in groove . cleaned the dics with a soft cloth and water, but no dice.

Any ideas how to fix this problem???

IT autopatches TQ, so try again without installing any patches to TQ

Thanks Dawe for the suggestion, unfortunately it had no effect.

I made room on the hard drive, defragamented it, but I keep getting the same error.

I think the disc must be damaged.

If anyone has any other suggestions, please post.

Update:

I called THQ support, they feel it is probably the disc, so I'm going to have to ship it to them and pay $15 and wait for them to ship me a new copy.......
(Warranty does not cover "physical" damage)
Bummer. I hating waiting. (and shelling out more $$ for something I've already bought!)

That symbol is euros, correct?

When I was in Italy last year I got 200 euros for 300 dollars....
Hmm, I'm bad at math.... that means the euro then had 1/3 more value...
So you paid the eqivelent of about 13 american dollars???
I bet it cost at least $19.99 in stores, so with the postage to send it to the west coast it would be around $18. I'd rather spend an extra $2.00 to not have to wait however many weeks it takes THQ to send a replacement copy of IT.

Yeah it's euro's and it was a sale I think but it's a good indication.
I think you get 1.50 to 1.60 $ for 1 euro so it's around 16$

Yeah I agree with you buy a new one in a store.

I am not sure if you can just put the new one in and have it work with all characters though -> you may need to use defiler to change your CD key first.
