Is it possible to make a copy of a character on the same computer?

I want to try some things out with my character, but I don't want to break him, so I was wondering if I could make a copy of him and mess around with the copy. I tried making copies of the save folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Arvetis\My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest\SaveData\Main and C:\Documents and Settings\Arvetis\My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\SaveData\Main but the copy doesn't show up in-game. I'm assuming this is because copying the folder necessitates changing the folder name, and if the folder name doesn't match up with the character name in the data, it messes things up?

Is there any way to do this?

I did, and all I saw was info on how to copy your character over to another computer. Could someone point me to the relevant info? Thanks.

If you got defiler and installed it on your PC -> run it and click on the copy character button.

When reinstalling the game (after new windows installation etc.) Can I just backup with rarring (or zip) the whole "my games folder" of titanquest and unpack after the game is reinstalled? Does it find the correct character data?

I moved my chars to another PC by moving the my games folder.. worked fine.
