Default Strange TQ:IT Crash

OK so i don't usually like to post for help (i prefer to do the helping) but in this case i'm all out of ideas. so here's my problem:

I got TQ + IT a few days ago. played it at my friends house and made a char brought it home and installed the game on my comp.

TQ ran ok. i tested it after i installed it so i went ahead and installed IT. This is where it gets weird. I tried to run IT and it goes to the black start up screen then the game crashes. My error reporter pops up and it quits to the desktop. However i can still run the original TQ. So i ran the patcher thinking that might solve the problem but to no affect.

I have tried reinstalling the game twice now with the same results. I'm out of ideas and was wondering if anyone could look at the problem with fresh eyes. I would really appreciate it. I have posted my system specs below.

Here are the specs on the error message:
AppName: tqit.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: engine.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000612db

Default Re: Strange TQ:IT Crash

Have you tried different drivers for your geforce? I couldn't run IT with some driver version, but other worked fine. That was with ATI card, not GF3.

am i reading this correctly? your video card only has 64MB? if thats the case, i would say that is your problem

i know it says GeForce 3 64MB for min requirements on TQ Gold, but 256MB is better, and 512MB is a must to run most of the higher quality video settings in the game
