After playing one of the last quests in Act4 of IT, the one where you have to defend a flag against a few incoming waves of enemies I've come up with the following "idea":
Is it possible to make a custom map that plays like a Castle Defense game? A good example of what I'm thinking about would be the Heroes Siege map for Warcraft 3. On it's most basic form, the only thing you need is something to defend in the middle of the map (flag?) , and ever increasing waves of enemies. As I've never used the editor before, I have the following questions: 1) Is it possible at all to make with the editor? 2) Can events be triggered by the amount of players? (like, increase the # of spawn points depending of the amount of players playing. This map would have a heavy co-op aspect to it) 3) Does anyone else other than me think this would be a fun thing to play? :P Thanks in advance! |

I don't know if you can use the editor to spawn more enemies based on more players, I think the game increases the difficulty (stats) for more players, as opposed to number of enemies, although I'm not sure for custom games.
This would definitely be fun to play, but the map tools take a while to get used to (especially the map editor ^ ^) There is a good tutorial somewhere in the program files directory, although I can't remember which folder. Just look around in them and you'll find it. If you go through that tutorial, you should be able to make something like this fairly easily. |
