Default More personalized characters

Maybe, on a future expansion or sequel (which one's better?), our characters could be more adaptive to the class we choose. For example, if I chose a mage class, the characters physical features could take on that of a magic-user, e.g. white hair, beard, or he could gain battle scars as he grows in level and experience.

And isn't it great in Diablo where each class has its own specific weapons? Like the assassin had blades and katars. Maybe in TQ we could have that, so that a 'rogue' can feel more rogue-ish wielding a katar.

Just a thought.

I somewhat agree with you, but I think rather than restrict characters from using any kind of weapon why not just provide for profiencies, class bonuses or penalties.

As far as looking more magic user, well dynamic characters would be cool, but I'm for a free or open skill system where you can choose any kind of skill you wish for your character to pursue so what would my character look like?

I'm all for character customization, something beyond just changing the color of one's tunic. As far as facial features, skin tone, hair color goes I don't see tying it to a skill, but something you select on character creation. Even just a dozen or so different head models with hair color selectable would be nice.

Absolutely. When you first loaded it up it was great to be able to click on "Create" then select gender and a tunic colour and be in there killing things about 30 seconds after the game is installed, but having a dozen toons looking identical begins to grate after a while. Just a few simple options like Psimon suggested would go a long way towards fixing this issue which is merely aesthetic but annoying nonetheless. A suppose a few class specific traits might work, such as warriors being heavily set or mages been wiry but not too much.

I totally agree. Most other rpgs are a little more customizable nowadays.

I thinkit would be a good idea to be able to fully customize your character's looks : Like hair type , Constitution , Face etc...
IT's pretty much a deja vu feeling when seeing all the characters of the same sex looking perfectly identical.

This is off topic but does anyone know if there is a mod for unlocked NPC skins?

But yeah if there's not going to be any gender or physical customization at least we could have got a few different racial models, that would have been resonable I think considering Titan Quest plays out in a multi-cultural world.

It is my understanding that you can't change things like hair color because it is built into the helmet art...which wasn't exactly a very good design choice. There are some mods that can change the skins, IIRC, so you might want to look in the Mods threads. Obviously it would be possible to offer hair color choices, etc. by going through all the art with Photoshop, but frankly I'd be satisfied with getting some of the broken quests fixed first. It isn't looking very hopeful that we are getting a patch at all, though.

Ah so using NPC skins wouldn't work... unless you didn't mind your armor not showing up?
