-implementation of rag doll physics, totally canged the gameplay and it has never been so fun to kill monsters, in the future I expect further implementation of physics, so the rag dolls interact between each other-not just with ground and stationary objects, also every type of damage should implement physics-for example fire should really burn meaning it turns monsters to crisp leaving behind charred bodies.
And upgrading skills increases visual physical effects. So that every description of the skill is realistically corresponding with visual/physical effects so there is no symbolic effects of described skills. Abandonment of symbolic effects is an obvious tendency in all serious games. -also it would be nice to have arrows actually stick into bodies(like in Silverfall) and the bow animation is pretty bad-there is no visible string on the bow, arrow or even quiver from which the character takes arrows like in so many other games. -there should be some respect for fundamental physical concepts-for example-lightning can not be a projectile like everythning else but is an instant bolt, you can see proper implementation of lightning in Sacred, and when an enemy is affected with certain type of attack it should show according to what kind of attack/damage/magic it is. that's enough for the beginning of the topic, more later... Yes, without a doubt TQ is currently the best hack&slash RPG on the market, nothing will be the same after it because it is an excellent role model in many areas.
I hope the developers are going to upgrade everything I said and be more mindfull about potential flawes-for example when you cast fire/lightning/whatever in the dark it doesn't light up the environment, this is rather strange since very old Diablo 2 has this and even stranger when it's clear that in all other areas lighting aspect is superb in TQ. Actually, I now noticed that everything you could wish for in a game and everything that I was saying in the first post is implementation of physics as much as possible, because this by default ensures superb gameplay and replayability because physics by default has those characteristis-reproduction of non-linear dynamic reality, and then you just create well structured setting for physics. It's obvious that this is a trend for a while now, but especially now with DX10 and multicore CPUs. |

Yeah I admit some of my posts have been *slightly* critical, but it's because I think TQIT it a GREAT game worth the feedback because it has a lot of potiential. Most of the criticism though comes from suffering a bit of newb blues which since I"m not the most hardcore player am just begining to get over. ![]()
