Character killed and looted

This sucks.....one of the people in my house last night had their character killed and looted by a higher level jerk on one of the servers last night... I didnt know other people could kill you and take your stuff..... I hate this feature of the game.

Your character can only be killed and looted if you have PvP on, which you have to do yourself. Plus I'm not even sure you can loot corpses in PvP.

I been playing IT for a couple hrs a day online since I bought it a week ago and come to think of it either I'm blind or I just can't remember seeing any games set for PVP? Infact I forgot all about PVP, I just hop on and start playing with people and so far most people are pretty cool and no one has killed me. But I would think that if PVP is allowed there is probably some sort of option the host sets to either allow looting or not.
