Store gold in the Caravan...

It would be nice to store gold in our caravans, preferably in the transfer area, so we can pass it along to our other characters. Not sure if this is something that can be patched into the game from this point or not.

If you want to pass money along to your other characters, I would suggest simply transferring unwanted items such as greens, blues, and purples (especially in Legendary) and than selling them with that character).

You could also transfer the money to a friend or clan-mate and than have them transfer the money to your other character once you log-in with the other char.

The problem with that comes when you want to give gold to a lower-level character who's still in Act I with that 10,000-gold resale cap. If you transfer high-level items to him, it'll take several of them to make a significant contribution, and you'll lose out on a lot of gold in the process.

I've often wanted to transfer piles of gold to my characters who are just starting out, but it looks like muleing is the only way to do it. Given the way TQ handles gold -- which is MUCH better than Diablo II's system, IMO -- I don't think it would be possible to patch it to allow shared gold.

Yeah, that re-sale cap for Normal puts a damper on it.

I'm just brainstorming solutions for his problem here, so I'd also say he could also head over to the Modifications forum and look at some of the programs that would allow him to add money to his character. Of course, this would depend on what one considers cheating and whether you want to use 3rd party programs at all.

He could also go online and join a game that is for trading (usually has the word trade in the server name) and many people will pay the going price for a Legendary item that you could normally sell it to a merchant in-game for.

And last but not least, you could also just ask for a donation; some people have so much gold they just plain don't now what to do with it and will give it away for free.

In fact, I'd be happy to donate several million... OP'er should PM me and I can host a server for the purpose of a donation.

One option would be to lift the resale cap at least partially for a character with Overlord in their inventory.

Obviously the player has beaten the game, and the resale cap then isn't as a means of balancing because the character has access to a lot of gold and more likely, twink items anyways, and in the long term such a change would mean nothing.
