Which class has the most viability. All three have their advantages: warfair adds alot of offense power. Defense adds strong damage protection and offensive power, Dream adds a lot of offensive power as well as totaly smoth synergy with spirt and two auras. What do you guys think any ideas on how to take this toon. Thanx

First, i dont like defense at all, so i will not consider it (tough other member say it
)Spellbreaker for me is a great char, just think of the great power of warfare: - maxed onslaught - dual axe/sword (you can take a lot of damage in normal/epic, in legendary u may consider a shield for better resistance <---may consider defence?) - war horn/battle standard/triumph are great skill (tough triumph will works only if u have the fan-patch) spirit: maxed deatchill aura and synergies will make life easier to a melee toon! (with necrosis and specific gear u can leech from everyone!) plus, but i think it's not the core of the build u can get enslave spirit which can control monsters around you... ... and u can get the liche... ... and the outsider... i nearly forgot, with spirit toexus is a piece of cake! so 1 vote for the spellbreaker, for me! Feel free to correct me if there is anything wrong! (Sorry for my poor english) saluti alex |

I'm not really involved in the 0 death xmax challenge, I just posted in the thread because I noticed that I got pretty far without dying. Also, I'm dead now. Of course I can still give advice though.
A Conqueror is almost impossible to kill with Colussus and Battle Standard up, and still very hard to kill with just Quick Recovery up. You cant have those up always however, especially Colossus. So if you get surprised and screw up, you die, just like most other chars. Armor handling can nicely improve early survivability too. And of course you still have your shield, which does help a bit. With xmax it will be on cooldown most of the time without quick recovery though. Spellbreaker isn't very good for surviving. Deathchill aura and its synergies help a lot I guess, but you still don't have a lot of defense. It's actually the most used example for a melee glass cannon class. So if you want to pick between those two classes, for a 0 death challenge I recommend Conqueror. Going pure Defender to around level 30 would probably work very well. Going pure Warrior works too of course. I don't really recommend mixing too much at early levels though. A Templar (Defense+Dream) is also very hard to kill, and can dish out quite nice damage. You don't have Battle Standard, but you still get Colossus and Quick Recovery, plus some nice increased DA and some projectile dodge from the Lucid Dream tree. Plus by rushing to trance of wrath late greece, all of egypt and early orient become very very easy. Walk past things and they will die. If you want a Warfare char you could also consider Champion (Warfare + Nature). It's an excellent class, and would probably survive better than a Spellbreaker. If you really want to be impossible to kill make a Haruspex, get about 2000 to 3000 DA and 100% avoid projectiles. There are about 5 attacks in the game that can still harm you with that setup. Trance of Wrath should easily carry you from level 12 to at least 30, and then you can try to start getting your DA and projectile dodge up. It's easier with a spear Haruspex due to having a shield, the Shade of Hector relic kicks ***. This build will be very boring to play though. Also, whatever class you pick, invest heavily into the tier bar early on.

as long as you keep your primary resists up, along with stun resist, the only way to die as a spellbreaker is getting one shotted.
with that in mind giving up defense for damage isn't so bad. spellbinder is awesome though, doesn't seem to get much love compared to templar but it's just as good. |

Archers. Remember, we're talking about xmax here. Not 3 or 4 archers, there are at least 10 per group. Without a shield to add projectile dodge and blocking, and no skills that help against projectiles I'm sure they hurt a lot.

i wasn't sure if the OP was talking about xmax, but yea defense would be a better mastery choice when theres hordes of enemies hitting you at once.
or you could be a bow hunter and kill them all in 2 shots. |

Oh right, the OP wasn't talking about xmax. Archers can still be very annoying in a normal game though.

Of course Quick Recovery makes the Spellbinder more survivable than the Spellbreaker, but with enough resistances (i.e. Ignore Pain, Star of Ishtar + Phoenix Axe for Heat Shield on switch = 50% damage resistance) and most importantly a Sapros you won't notice much difference even in xmax.
So it all comes down to your available equipment. If you have a Sapros, go for Spellbreaker for the best killspeed. If not, Spellbinder has great survivability while Diviner has a nice selection of active skills. |
