[Oracle] This about right?

Got a lvl 42 oracle just coming up to delphi in epic and was wondering whether i was about where i should be...

My DPS is 646 with storm nimbus on (goes up to about 870 when eye of the storm triggers)

Is this acceptable for early epic? I don't seem to have that much trouble killing monsters, but they're not exactly flying all over the screen if you know what i mean. Any advice on things to try and get, or shall i just carry on and get what i find?

Also, skills roughly alright?

Time to get Squall and Thunderball imo, I'd probably go for something like this

As to what DPS is right, it is mostly a matter of what gear is available. You could do 3 times that damage with the right gear, but if it is your first toon, you obviously won't have found it yet.

As long as you have little problems there is nothing wrong with the gear, it just could be better.

Yeah its a bit of a pain with the equipment but havent been that lucky with staves, and my foootwear is just atrocious. That titan calc thing looks as if it will send my damage plummeting: losing 8 points in ternion, 6 in eye of the storm and tons in lich king it will be ages before i get that back again!

Would you suggest i farm anywhere or shall i just carry on through the game as normal?

You loose some DPS but overall it will be easier, use Squall and Thunderball frequently.

Squall deals nice damage (kills everything outright up to and including normal Egypt) and helps with debuffing enemy resistances as well. The Thunderball stun will keep mobs stunned for a while, so you have some more breathing room in which to attack with your staff.

I use them all the time even in legendary (Squall is essentially up non-stop as long as their is anyone around, something you cannot yet afford as your energy regen is lower an your recharge higher).

imo you should just carry on, I never had much luck with farming and pretty much everything you could find now will soon be outdated again, you are not even halfway through the game yet

With all those points in Thunderball, why put Storm Nimbus to 10?

Thunderball doesn't deal that much damage, it is mostly of interest for the stun. In the long run you deal the most damage with your staff (-100% recharge builds being the exception).

Yea, I have no decent -% recharge gear. I play tested my lvl 46 or 47 (I forget atm) oracle with lightning bolt and thunderball, no comparison at this point, ternion wins hands down. I may need to start adding thunderball for the stun though, it would help in a few situations (some of the hard hitting melee guys in Act 4 normal were death!)
