Default Anyone have a fun ternion build?

Sure, I'd like some good DPS, but foremost I want to have fun playing with my toon. So, if I say I want to play around with ternion, what other Spirit skills are the most important ones, and what should my other mastery be?

Well my caster diviner is my only ternioner, but a lot of fun to play cause with ToC you do not to have to worry about mana. With some damage converted to health, ternion is awesome......

I'll think about that! Also, I think I've read somewhere that Oracle would be good with ternion, is that true?

With Ternion you are obviously a mage, so the other skill definitely worth getting is the Lich King.

Since Spirit does not boost any elemental damage, you want a mastery which does as secondary. This leaves Storm and Earth, of the two I prefer Storm thanks to its many usefull skills (Earth isn't bad either, but nothing comes close to Squall for a mage imo).

I would not go with Dream, it too does not boost elemental damage (except for electrical burn which next to no staff deals or gear boosts - besides being a DoT type which deals damage too slowly in the long run, as all DoT types do).

Thanks! Storm it is. I'm no big fan of Earth...

Oh yeah, what is the deal with Squall exactly? I've never gotten why it is so good... Perhaps I just have to put more than a few points in it for it to be effective.

The deal is pretty simple, early on it is a great damage dealer, up to late Egypt / early Orient just about anything will be killed by a single Squall. Later on it is a great skill too as it lowers resistances and will cause all archers and casters in the AoE to miss you.

It is the single most important skill for my Storm mages and imo the best skill in the entire game.

How squall works is, every second, it has a % chance to deal damage to all enemies in its effect radius. Every point you put into the skill improves this chance, the damage done, and the radius of the spell.

Long and short, if you max it, you'll see why it's godly.

Thumbs down Re: Anyone have a fun ternion build?

My oracle had a blast with ternion through out normal and epic.
She is, however, getting pretty chewed up in Legendary.

Maybe I'll move some points around and give squall another chance.
I tried 3 points into it in Act II normal and I didn't see what the big deal was and wound up reassigning those points into something else.

yeah...

squall doesn't start to be even worth casting till at least 6 points. bare minimum. once you get it all the way maxed, though, you'll wonder how you ever got on without it.

Oracle with ternion and squall would be a devastating build

Not having Squall imo is the single biggest mistake an Oracle can make
Squall is always up when I fight, constantly, I only let it run out when everyone is dead.
