Default Super Damage Aura, Maybe.....

okay so i have thid idea for a spirit and dream character (i dont know what the class is.....) to use deathchill aura and trance of the wrath for main damage, like a high damage aura or something.

i think it could work, and with the right items - which i have - it could do some serious damage

and please let me know if anyone have tried this already

I am currently trying something like that and the auras work well together. A weapon with huge %ADcTH is my best friend though.

I have a lvl 55 caster Diviner in Legendary act 1, using those auras. 1200 int and full Carnus set, which I finally completed after endless Hades runs some time ago (+137% electrical burn, +25% total dmg). +3 skills.

So ToW does (correct me if I'm wrong):

244 base over 4 seconds
+55% from Lucid Dream
+162% from the set
+240% from int. Every 50 points of int increases electrical burn by 10%.
+10% from 2x Hades' Generals

In Legendary the monsters have a minimum of 30% lightning resistance. Lvl 15 Tow reduces that to 19%.

Total about 1400 over 4 seconds, with 19% resistance it's 1134.

For Temporal Rift
1008 base over 4 seconds
Total about 5700 over 4 seconds, with 19% resistance it's 4600.

Alternative setup is -100% recharge, but not so much electrical burn.

In Epic almost everything dies once they get zapped once by this aura. I was just running around clicking on bone piles while monsters collapsed.

The thing with Deathchill HP reduction is that it is only 3-15%, and the monsters can resist that. So it will not do that much dmg. Quite fun, yeah but you'll see the aura being less and less effective in Legendary dmg wise.

My level 64 melee Diviner is in legendary Hades. I don't have much INT or +%electrical burn damage. Monsters take about 4 or 5 seconds to go down to about 10% of their maximum hitpoints, but after that, the aura doesn't do much more damage. Eventually they die but by that time I have killed them with my sabertooth.
I think the approach Poinas is taking should work much better for killing with the auras, but archers will probably be quite annoying to say the least (no shield block or cap).

AFAIK the boost you get from intelligence isn't additive with other +%elemental dmg modifiers, it is multiplicative:
base elem. dmg*(+%elem. dmg)*(int boost)
Calculated this way, you get cca 2700 dmg over 4 sec

If you have maxed Necrosis and ToW, resistances will be most likely negative (except HP reduction resistance, only bosses have that AFAIK)

23% cap from Temporal Flux. Then there's Distrotion Wave, it does 3x the amount of electrical burn that ToW does. Every archer dies in one sweep. Well, grandmasters might need two.
