I posted last night about my soothsayer im now concerned that this staff isnt really helping me much... should a summoner double as a melee fighter? as i raise my classes i raise my intelligence and my dexterity for both. i feel like i should be putting my att. points into str. and not int. Do most summoners use sword and shield?

I would go the melee route with a Soothsayer, he just sucks at being a caster (no skills boosting elemental damage). Quite frankly he is only a mediocre meleer too, I wouldn't play a Soothsayer to begin with (unfortunately I only found out after I had played one for a long time, of the 12 or so chars I have he is my least favorite). If you want to go with pets, a Ritualist is probably better (never tried one - he should also be a meleer, not a mage).
As to the pets doing the damage, that takes forever, they are ok when it comes to taking damage, but not for dealing it. Of course, if you have invested in int a lot, it now is too late to turn around. |
