This is the method I use, however, I'm always digging into my mod, so it's no big deal for me. Some may find it too involved though...maybe it'll be useful...

Did you type the correct name and path to the location of the psd file?

It sounds like your .psd might be broken or an unusable format. Can you open it with your graphics program? Open it again and check its Properties, etc. Then compare that to the properties of the original .psd you got from TextureViewer.exe.

I'm getting a message that says 'texturecompiler is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file' when I try to run this. What should I do?

The .psd files have to be with only the 3 channels and the "Aux" channel to be compatible with the texture compiler. If you have made channels to help you with the work you did, keep them on the working image, but make a copy of it and delete the additional channels from the image. Also, "merge" the layers on the copy of the image. Finish out with just one layer and the R, G, B and the Aux channel on the image you want to pass to .tex.

This way you can compile it. Note, do this in the COPY of the image you were working on, otherwise you'll lose all the advantage of having additional layers and channels on the image.

You have to be on the directory where the texturecompiler is for it to work. On the command line, go to the directory where the texturecompiler is, then run it. It shouldn't be a problem then.

use art manager

copy .psd file into \Working\Modname\Source folder of an artmanager mod and open art manager open the mod
-> "auto asset" the psd file into "Bitmap/Texture"
-> built
-> check the created tex file in the build folder
->get ur tex file

describing it seems difficult but it is very easy

i am using this way to edit Creature Textures,HUD bitmaps, Area Textures
it works always
