Default Using existing model in game as main character?

Hey I was wondering if it is possible to use some of the existing model already in game as the main character instead? The act 3 soldiers with the top knot and fancy clothes looks much cooler than the generic main character and I wanted to replace it.
Much thanks if anyone know how to do this.

In your player's dbr file, you will need to change the mesh and the textures to match what you are needing. Each type of character in the game (player, monster, npc, etc.) uses a mesh, a texture, and a bump texture. The mesh is the wireframe or "shape" of the character. The texture is the image that the mesh uses as a skin. The bump adds a fake shaping to the mesh using pixels.

Keep in mind that you need to use textures that are used for the mesh that you pick. This is because the texture is used as a UV map. Using one that's not for the mesh will make the mesh look odd. Some meshes will also have more than one texture to choose from. If this is the case, check them out and pick the one that you like best.

I was able to get the Maenad model to work. Being the perv that I am, the post about it is in the adult modifications section. The short of it is you'd have to use models that can work with the pc animations. I think. So a centaur, for example, would be out, unless you didn't mind not being able to pick up items.

That is correct, the hair is a seperate mesh from the main character. Since you figured out the texture stuff, I'm guessing you found out how to edit dbrs.

To change what "hair" the model is using, go to the player's dbr file and look under "Character" in the list. One of the entries in there is called "default head piece". To have no hair, just clear the entry. To select a new hair style, look around in the directories. Most likely, you will find more in the same directory the original hair was in.

In the player's dbr, you will find the mesh and texture options in the "Actor Variables" section. Don't forget to clear the head piece entry since the fish guy doesn't have hair.

Question Re: Using existing model in game as main character?

I just got the game a few days ago and, well, could someone be bothered to make or explain me how to do a short-bearded male skin? I'd like something like the Megara Master Artisan Autolycus's head:

If the skin color can be kept as the slightly darker default one fine, if not the fairer skin is OK too.

I tried to follow the indications in the posts above but could find no dbr files whatsoever so got stuck before actually starting. Not that I could figure where to look for the Master Artisan's texture either .
