I've just started a Diviner but I'm really not sure what skills to be getting. I've put together this rough idea: http://www.titancalc.com/TitanCalc.a...-6-12-12-8-0-0
Any suggestions? Thanks, Craig.

Death Ward - 1 pt, can save your life every now and then.
Outsider - 1 pt. Doesn't get much better with more points. Deathchill Aura - 0/6 pts. Draws aggro, but slows and damages enemies. I have it maxed on all my spirit charcters. Dark Covenant - 6 pts. Lots of mana regeneration. Not your top priority, there's always potions. Arcane Blast - 0. Not worth it. Wraith Shell - 6+. Liche is very tough in legendary even with "only" 6 pts in that skill. Spirit Ward / Spirit Bane 1/1 pt for undead encounters. Enslave Spirit - 1 pt. Just for fun. Nightmare skill tree - 1/1/1. Nightmare gains a new skill at lvl 5, but it's not that good. Distortion Field - 1 pt. Just for a little bit of extra protection. Distort Reality / Temporal Rift - 1/12 pts. Godly panic button for situations when monsters get too close. Distortion Wave / Chaotic Resonance / Psionic Immolation - 1/1/12. Immolation kills almost anything in normal with 1-2 waves. Later god for the slow effect. TitanCalc

Thanks very much for that
![]() I added the points that were left over so it now looks like this: http://www.titancalc.com/TitanCalc.a...-12-1-12-0-0-0 Is that any good or can the points be spent in better places? Death Ward maxed for extra protection I've got Summon Outsider on 16/16 as it'll be good for dropping bosses when farming Distortion wave & chaotic resonance maxed for extra damage Also, what kind of stat points should be going on where? Thanks, Craig.

Electrical burn is only affected by int and +%electrical burn. Diviner can wield any staff he likes, Dream boosts fire/cold/lightning equally.

My level 63 diviner is my most powerful character. The amount of control you can get over enemies is second only to playing a warlock.
A maxxed out lich does some impressive damage, but I haven't given it a lot of play (as I rarely play my diviner in single player). I would imagine it's not as good as playing with another player, so it might fall to you more to do damage. I personally love Arcane LORE for the splash damage. Maxxed out, one shot will hit a cluster of 3-4 enemies no problem, which is a great way to carry your damage and (more importantly for me) your item effects; poison, resistance reduction, slowing, extra vitality damage from rings and whatnot all carry in that splash (unlike stupid scattershot arrows, which don't). If you play with the community patch, ravages of time and necrosis are amazing. And, I'm pretty sure you don't need deathchill aura running to get the necrosis on ravages. Ravages is great for defense if you play with a lich, and it's a great boost if you're playing with a meleer, who can do crazy damage to enemies around you. The reduction to vitality resist with necrosis makes my life drain awesome. I also agree that you should ditch dark covenant, unless you wanna put just a point in there and use unearthly power (works for your lich as well). I would never use it playing single player, though. Also, 2 great 1-point skills are Vision of Death and Sands of Sleep. Vision of death is super-badass for pushing back casters and for fighting fast melee heroes and bosses. Even if a monster resists the fear (as heroes and bosses will), they still get the 66% chance to fumble attacks for 11 seconds! I can't tell you what a life saver it is. And Sands of Sleep is my most-used skill. It recharges in like 2 seconds. It's no good for bosses, but there's no better way to cripple a group of archers until you're ready for them. You can also cast it on closer enemies, but be aware that your deathchill aura will wake them up; however, it still works as a good 1-second stun even in that case, which can get you out of sticky situations. I actually have it maxxed, and when you get up to those levels, it doesn't matter who you hit, because it's going to chain-reaction all over the place. So, for 2 points, you can support your pets infinitely better, and take all but 1 point from wraith shell and put them somewhere else (like master mind). In legendary, I'm not sure distortion wave and chaotic resonance at max is woth the skill points. If I'm not mistaken, the +50% to damage on chaotic resonance only applies to the base damage of distortion wave, which only gets up to like 200 or something, if I recall. So, for 8 skill points, you get an extra 100 damage every 6 seconds (if you're casting it as soon as its recharged). It's just...not very much for 8 skill points. And, like Poinas said, distortion wave is really most helpful for the 50% total speed reduction on enemies, and you can have that at level 1. I'd leave the psionic immoliation maxxed, though, as it does great damage. Distort reality, on the other hand, tends to be pretty good bang-for-buck because of the vitality damage + necrosis, but if I were playing with a Lich, I would leave it at lvl 1 as well. Also, and I know this is going to sound bad, but if you're playing a caster, I would max out trance of convalescence over trance of wrath. Wrath is unbelievably awesome if you're playing a meleer, but as a caster, you probably want to spend more of your time _away_ from enemies. Convalescence also helps your pets, giving them the 20% damage absorbtion (at max), and giving you the needed energy regen so you can get away from dark covenant. If your character is this powerful, you likely have a incarnation of monkey trix somewhere you can put on a good amulet or ring, and then your staff will reduce every enemy hit 12 absolute points of resistance. To give a little perspective, this makes it better than ToW for hordes, and a little worse for bosses. If all hordes get +30 to all resistances, and your ToW reduces it by 40%, you only reduce their resistance by 12 points anyway. So, one monkey trix already blows their legendary advantage out.
