Sodo you guys approve melee Evoker as a hybrid? I'll do a guide about an auramance, but it will cover non-auramancer gameplay too. I have 800 int, if that makes any differene.

Dunno about Matseb, but melee Evoker would definitely be a hybrid imo.

Looking forward to your auramancer guide, Poinas. I've always wanted to try an aura build with Dream, but I always get distracted by DW/PI and invest in that rather than waiting for ToW.

Just a question, are you interested mainly in melee builds? Sage and Avenger can both be played spear, but they are also viable and interesting archer hybrid builds that don't get much attention among the plethora of Rangers, Brigs and Haruspexes.
Yeah, bow ones would be fine. We should probably state that in the title of the guide though, e.g. Haruspex (bow), or Haruspex (archer), etc.

As for Dream builds, I guess having Dream + a mage mastery would be fine because Dream is quite melee based in itself, but Dream + a fight mastery is definitely not a hybrid. So yeah, I guess Evoker sounds good.

As for mastery mod, I guess some of the classes can be considered. We could perhaps extend this onto another thread where masteries mod classes would be included.

alright, sounds good.

in any case, it'll be some time before i actually start writing a guide...still a few things in each mastery i have to try out and the next 2 weeks or so are insanely busy for me.

Wait, Bow Haruspex are hybrids?

Edit: Nevermind, I read that wrong, ignore me.

On another note, I'm very interested in reading what's to come from this thread. Looks to be interesting, after I finish my Spear/Bow Haruspex and my Defense/Undecided character.

Ah yeah, sorry, Haruspex won't count as a hybrid, but Avenger and Sage would.

Anyways, I've done my first guide (Battlemage). Obviously I will be adding things to it from time to time and soon gonna do the Juggernaut guide too.

Wow, I really disagree with that Battlemage guide.

#1 - Battlemages have pretty good defense as far as hybrids go. Besides the defensive skills in Warfare, Earth gives you Heat Shield (15% Damage absorption), Stone Skin (good amount of +Armor at Max+4 level), Soften Metal (reduces enemy damage slightly), Core Dweller (takes the heat off you), and an emergency button in Stone Form.

#2 - Ring of Flame & its synergy are a must for any warrior oriented Earth class. The decent amount of damage to everything at point blank range is nice, but what really rocks is knocking off a couple hundred Armor from all of your enemies.

#3 - War Wind is a substantially better skill than Volcanic Orb for Battlemages. War Wind takes advantage of the Battlemage's high attack power, spreads the Burn damage from Brimstone around and puts the Battlemage in Ring of Flame range. Not to mention War Wind costs a lot fewer skill points. Now I'm not saying that you can't use Volcanic Orb as well if you want, but War Wind is the essential skill; Volcanic Orb is the support skill.

#4 - Battle Standard rocks for Battlemages because all of the bonuses are added to the Core Dweller as well.

Well it's a style of play really. Ring of flame becomes ineffective in late game. you need tonnes of intelligence points for it which battlemage obviously won't have as he/she has to split them between int and str.

I never said anything bad about battle standard in my guide.

Those defensive skills are not enough and do not complement warfare too well.

But then again, you are welcome to write a battlemage guide too. I did say there can be up to 2-3 guides on each class.

I haven't started it yet. Had an exam today and so was busy with revision. I'll try to do it before my next exam (which is on Friday).
