Shield Attack - displayed stats correct?

With Shield Attack, is the character striking with ONLY the shield, or with the weapon as well? When I activate the attack, it seems to strike awfully hard and take off a huge chunk of Health, compared with my juicy weapon in my weapon hand. And that's just at level 1, with the stats claiming "+8% damage".

I think it's the basic damage + 8%.

i THINK ive read on these forums that any shield attacks are weapon+shield damage...i could be wrong though.

It only makes sense.

Any attack with a shield uses the weapon as well and as shields do about the same damage as your weapon (depending on where you are in game it may be more or less) it roughly 2x base damage +stat% + (phys% +8%).

So, on the % chance shield attacks, when you hit 3 with your arc, you are hitting 3 with both weapon and shield?! That's like 6 attacks going out!

Forget dual wielding! I'm sticking with weapon and shield!

Its the same for 2 weapon skills with attack 3 mobs, the biggy with duel weilding in normal game is that warwind can hit up to 5 mobs or 3 mobs twice.
