I think Benjidatramp hit on it the best with the suggestion of making THESE way skills auras as it would give a mage dedicated character much more "magical" power. I do not recommend changing the other way skills I like them just fine. I think they are a fantastic idea as it forces play style choices on the player.

That being said my Myrmidion (CC+Vamp) is lvl 59 and have found no problems with conflicting way skills. From what I can see there are no way skills in CC so there should be no conflict here. Wether or not a CC+Sorcery hybrid would work well is kinda up to you I guess just from a glance the Way of Lightning skill looks very good for a melee based character and I might actually try it out. Afterall a chance at stun and +10% overall speed.... don't seem like I can go wrong there

Some Suggestions on builds...

Sorcery + Archery or any Melee based build: Put your skill focus in archery, add in the following skills from Sorcery (remember you only need 1 point in any way skill to unlock its other skills) Elemental Shield, Elemental Armor, Concentration, Physical Shield, Conversion Shield, Firewall. Gives plenty of defense, recharge, reduced requirements, some healing and should complement a non-caster build pretty well.



Just my thoughts after reading the thread up to this point.

I still won't go for too many way skills in order to get their synergies. Wasting 1 skill point is OK, but wasting 3-4 is too much.

In the case above, in order to unlock Firewall (the only defensive skill that requires a point in a way skill) it would take a total of 2 points

1 Way of Fire
1 Fireball

None of the other skills listed in my suggestion require a point in a way skill so there should be no conflict with way skills from other masteries... if that is you are using sorcery to boost a archer/melee char.

Well at the moment I am going strongly by fire tree. I decided to pop a point in Draculian way just to get active attacks such as regurgitation, etc. Thinking of getting some lightning attacks sometime too, and maybe even Nosferaturian attacks if I am feeling lucky. That's gonna be 3 skill points spent on ways I am not gonna use.

Yah I can see your point there, I merely wanted to point out that Sorcery as a support mastery for others can be done with a minimal amount of points "wasted" on useless skills.

Sure, I understood your point. But if you want a skill from every way tree in both masteries you're using then unfortunately you must invest a lot of 'junk' skill points.

A suggestion to deal with this (dunno if it can be done though) add a small passive boost to each way skill that have active dependents, that is all ways apart from archery ones.
