With a max Phil stone and a few levels in pancea you can easily pull off level 8 or 9 illusions which I found was plenty to detsroy anything in the game. Now that the speed cap has been increased chrono looks like a very strong second mastery

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I have a level 17 warrior with skill tree maxed, and a point here and there on some skills. I just can't decide a second mastery though. These would be my options:
Battlemonk (CC+Myst)- Mainly for White Flame+synergy and a few of the timed buffs. Pro: Decent damage with White Flame+Cunning Strike with the added pierce % and reduced resistances. Con: That's about all the benefits I see, aside from good at killing undead. Myrmidon (CC+Vamp)- Cain Way + skill tree, as well as Vibrancy from Nosferatu tree. Pro: Bat for distraction, added attack speed and pierce damage with cain way (no way skills in CC to conflict it either), passive damage resistance, and good life leech abilities. Con: A lot of skills are passive or toggled buffs so it would be more of a 'hold down mouse button to kill everything' build which seems kinda boring. Exterminator (CC+Alch)- Mainly for toggle/passive buffs as well as Imposture. Pro: Very powerful build defense wise. Imposture good for boss fights. Has "distraction" utility skills. Toggled total speed boost. Con: Heavy on energy use. Aside from Imposture and the total speed boost, nothing goes towards weapon damage. If I pick up Disruption, I might just start spamming that like I did with my Experimentalist and disregard the CC part of the build. Mercenary (CC+Chrono)- Mainly for attack speed boosts and timed buffs. Pro: Most likely highest DPS in game. Timed boosts add more to attack speed, damage, and OA. Passive buff adds DA. Life/Energy Regeneration timed buff for..well, life and energy regeneration. Timeless Strike/synergy to pretend I'm using Phantom Strike. Con: Aside from the passive that adds DA, I'm not seeing anything going towards defense. Seems like a "glass cannon" character. So...what would YOU pick?

As above I went Alchemy + CC and strolled through the game With the new attack speed caps chrono or vamp would be nice. Chrono gives u a nice charge skill. Alchemy will keep you alive. Vamp will give u life leech. Definitly in those 3. Alchemy can sustain Energy use late game with phil stone and pancea. Before that you will likely quaff lots of pots and use some siockets on energy leech.

I went Myrmidion (CC+Vamp) and am lvl 56 now just starting Legendary. This is a very boring type of build as it is left click heavy. That being said my Life Leech means I am not really worried about going toe to toe with almost anything. Most of the really tuff stuff in act 4 epic was not a big deal for me

if youre spear/shield like me i'd go with chrono. a dual wield merc would die all the time though.
downside to spear is feint attack doesnt seem as good as endorphin and spartan thrust isnt worth using. spear dance is awesome though. |

What about construction??? My enforcer in normal act4 at level 37 has yet to die. Endorphin in combination with the protective passive skills in construction (do not remember the name at the moment), gives me now around 44% damage resistance and to top that you can get 5% damage absorption with effeeble in close combat mastery. So with a decent armor and dual wielding fast sabertooth with %DACTH...you kind of go through anything very fast...even Typhon was no match for him. I haven't tried the other combos, but the feel I get from this toon is that he will have no trouble at all for a long time. 44% damage reduction (without any of the two skills maxed...if I can find a veteran green armor....well I'll be pretty hard to kill with physical damage.

I didn't put up construction because I see that more of a bow or caster secondary master. They can set up mines near them and fire away with their bow, spells, staff, or whatever and if enemies get too close, mines detonate and kill them. They also have the automaton to assist them in killing, which a CC character doesn't really need.
Went Myrmidon. If I find the character too too boring, I'll defile it or start a new character and go Exterminator.

Never tried alchemy, but will surely give it a try after I bring this enforcer to the end....I think swords are the weapons of choice for now, but I'm planning on using a sword and a mace (If I can find a thorny maul...) in the off hand to benefit from both CC and Construction

Actually guys I playing level 56 CC+Construction build and I really think this _is_ the uberbuild.
I do around 6.6K DPS and anything goes down pretty quickly. The secret of this build are the level 20 hammers - they give 143-361 damage with FAST attack speed, minimum +20% att speed and a little elemental resistance on each hammer. On top of that they are white and can be imbued. Overall the pros are: - IMO highest DPS build in the game - Impossible to kill with physical damage cons: - Very fragile to pierce and elemental attacks So far I've put almost any single point in STR - up until now I've 1.6K - the damage output is huge to say the least.
