Default There is a first time for everything

Hi folks....I saw that mysticism and sorcery are not that popular so I started a paganist to try to give some exposure to those two masteries. Now at level 9, I already foresee a problem in getting dex high enough (I'm planning on going full melee in my hybrid tradition). BTW cleansing even with one point is very efficient against skellies...boom they are dead. Also tried circle of protection but do not see the potential in it yet....the fire damage retalliation does not seem to by dealt and I'll have to give a closer look at the damage absoprtion. But anyway this class will be a lot of fun to manage.

Yep that because it a sqaull type spell lvl 1 does ~28 damage a tick to them for 4.2 secs so if it has if per sec damage 117 total.

So in you opinion this skill works and would rock the house. When you cast it you see a lot of pedestals with fire on top of them...but nothing more sems to happen. Using show all damage mod and if I stand there in the middle looking at the damage creatures inside the circle of protection takes...well it is not close to 117 damage per second.

Yes i was talking about cleansing, sad to hear that PC is kind of broken as the damage should be noticeable given time though its only 7-14 per sec with its attack spell and 4.25 per sec retaliation with 3/4 chance of 26 bonus.
Do you know it the second part working the 35% damage absorption &
30% fire resistance?

Fire resistance seems to work alright and damage resistance too...what I discovered is that for circle of protection to do some damage...creatures have to attack it to get through to you. So the tactic is to cast it and run around so they are forced to follow you. Therefore is you positioned yourself behind the circle, they have to get through it and attack it to get to you....not that interesting IMO besides the damage absorb.

Its suppose to provoke the mobs so if you cast it near them it should work.

(Haven't tried it myself)

I have a Paganist also, and last time a group of Centaurs chased me around (d#$n Elders with their War Horn and Batle Standard) they were constantly lit on fire by FireWall and i turned around to poison them which, with the lot of them on each others lip trying to get to me, pretty much infected the entire group.

Circle pretty much sucks though, i cast it around myself to buy time, but given that it's static it's really not all that useful.

Also, about poison... I'm playing with a friend (Beastmaster) and it occurred to me that when i'd be playing solo i wouldn't be all that wonderful. I went for the Masteries first thing so my skills aren't really up to par yet, but enemies seem to chew through my HP pretty fast.

I also get critted. A lot.

Only died once so far, but yeah... For my caster Paganist, the lack of a tank in the lower levels is hurting me. I assume Elemental Armor i'll be sinking points in will allow me to wear Warrior gear (i'd have picked it for %vit res alone) and Elemental Shield will help vs. Magical, but i don't know whether that investment would drain my available skill points to the point where i have to lose the staff and melee everything, going Lightning tree because Way of Lightning stacks with White Flame. It'd break my INT build though.

Advice?
