This question would apply to similar skills as well, Blade Honing for example.
If my character has one weapon of the required type (sword/axe/spear) and another weapon that isn't one of the types mentioned in the skill, how does it work? Will both attacks made with either weapon receive the bonus, or does the skill only apply to attacks made by the allowed weapon (sword/axe/spear)? Thanks, Chikken |

yea. he means if hes dual wielding and he has a sword and something thats not a sword and has sharpened blade on what happens to his attacks. and i think it would only affect the damage done by the sword. i think anyways. please tell me if im wrong.

blade honing buffs both weapons dunno about masteries skills. (but BH would only give a flat piercing damage to say a club and the %piercing mod would be aplied to 0 which would in turn yield 0.

I don't mean to doubt you, claudius, but can anyone confirm this?
And with regard to the +% piercing damage: Wouldn't it buff the flat damage, just like all other sources of +% piercing damage? As in, my Hunting passives should actually buff the flat piercing damage, as should my gear....Unless I've misunderstood something. Thanks for the replies, and best wishes to PinkFrog on the quest to search the database for the answer, as that's what I think you're doing at the moment... Chikken |

two different things: %piercing and % piercing damage. The former modifies the conversion of physical to piercing ie 88% piercing converts a 10% piercing modifier on a sword to 18.8%. % piercing damage on the other hand buffs all piercing damage including flat damages as you say.

If Way of Kane is functioning as written. It says % Piercing. Which in TQ was used in blade honing in contrast to % piercing damage on art of hunt/call of hunt. I play a vampire at the moment. All I know is its a good skill!

Now that's interesting........Hmm.
How about the following? Take a dual-wielder using some sort of sword along with a Thorny Maul. How does Blade Honing work in this case? And the Way of Kane or Sharpened Blade skills? Will they apply all their bonuses, + piercing damage, +% piercing damage, and +% piercing, to the weapon that isn't part of the skill description, in this case Thorny Maul? |

I have read a thread where they discussed thorny and BH. It was at first decided that it did not function but then they realized they tested it on crabs with high pierce resistance. Once the tested on a level field they decided the thorny maul was doing more piercing. Of course you'd need both % piercing (to get your thorny doing pretty much all pierce..it normally does 50 right?) and also % piercing damage in order to boost the pierce that you do do. So in regular titan quest the assassin couldn't really do insane damage because they only had %piercing damage from gear. If you could take a trimastery: hunting-warfare-rogue then you could do a lot or if you have double apollo will on a assassin thats still pretty insane but thats partly because you have 3x awesome items and partly because of the synergy of those items/skills.
