Default Automaton is too slow...

The Automaton is prohibitively slow. As I run, it teleports to catch up to me and enemies are dead before he catches up in combat except for the really strong stuff. He works fine as a little extra damage against bosses, but 99% of the time he does nothing.

I don't have his spell upgrades, maybe those would help so he wouldn't have to crawl up to the enemies first, but I'm not so sure.

Hi,

You gotta boost his lvl that is all...

He is supposed to be a slag in the beginnings...

are you saying that the automaton has a hidden speed boost as you put more points in? because the complaint was that hes too slow to reach the battle, not that he's weak.

if this is true, the automaton might have to be the next skill i work on for my beast/construct character.

Yup, the speed increases with lvls... I think lvl5 or something is the one you are looking for in the beginnings...

It should say with "more skill increases his speed" some where in description then.

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, maybe, but it should also say in almost all pet-skills that the monsters increase in size, some at certain and some at all lvls...

You know, many things could be said...and I do not think it is that a big issue...

You must keep in mind that you're a constructor somewhen at lifetime of leonidas. And you're about to realize that you can create automated fighting-mashines! How cool is that anyway You're the Leonardo of Ancient Greece.

Of course the first versions are more like tests only. They are small, slow, don't kill much. You know, but still you can be very proud. And they are a solid base for bigger things. Much bigger things...

Anyway, speed is only an issue during the first few levels. Including it in the description is not needed, imho.

true that its not needed, but it would be helpful. for instance, i only put one point into automaton so far, and if it werent for this thread, he would be one of the last pets i raised levels in because of how slow he is. now that i know he gains speed, i cant wait to put points into him.

are there any other hidden attributes on some skills? especially pets that get faster, as the only ones that seem to keep up with me are isao and the horse...but with a few levels in the beast mastery aura (forgot the name) they catch up rather quickly so its not too bad.

im loving this mod so far

Yeah, of course there are tons of hidden stuff to each pet (and to some extend to all skills) The hud has only place for a certain amount of info. Each pet is internally calculated just like the player, therefore all resistances, dps, OA-DA stats, hp-regeneration, speed, str, int, dex etc etc are indeed part of the pet and taken care of.
But where to put all that info?! Its btw a choice that IronLore made a while ago when they defined what part of the info show's up and which doesnt. Changing the way the hud-stats are compiled is basically beyond this mod

I certainly understand the need for this sort of info, though. I will see if i can do something about it!

I can only say that automatos (maxed) with maxed aggressive beast (from bestiary mastery) is **** fast, both in moving and attacking... with the ranged attack it seems a machine gun
