Default Learn Monster Skill

I reckon a nice one would be having a passive skill that lets you learn or copy monster skills after a certain condition is met (Maybe killing said monster with/without being hit by said skill or having it done to you a certain amount of times...) also maybe instead of you getting it, maybe teaching it to a pet.

Also I like the Lufia monster system, if someone could explain it, I'm not good at that... Lufia II I reckon is best...

Don't know what's Lufia monster system, but your idea looks fine. Sucking a monster's skill and use it by your own. Hoverver, TQ would have to improve the skill panel change system. I can't even put all my scrolls available without discarding ternion attack.

Well, everyone knows Pokemon, its kinda like that...

You capture a monster on the battlefield and it battles with you, and evolves... In Lufia II there was 4 stages of evolution, each one having its own skill sets and a special skill... now bigger wasn't always better so there was a way of devolving your mosters to suit different situations... They got experience and levelled like a character as well, and to evolve them you fed them items. In Lufia II they had an item they preferred, but thats probably too much, just an item type would be enough., i.e. tank pets want armour mage pets want staffs/int gear and warrior pets want melee weapons etc..

You get the picture? And also with the learning skills ofc you would only use a few at a time, in fact I would suggest you could only know 2 or 3 at a time... so you would need to strategise maybe and figure out what skills you want vs. what boss/act or whatever and go get them...

I get your idea, but I think it would be cool as well if we found a beast, added its info to a Titanpedia and were able to summon them (and improve them) throught its page in Titanpedia. But it would be alot harder.

A monster book would absolutely awesome if it was like Diablo where the more of something you kill, the more you know about it, and then ofc the last step would be being able to summon it permanently, whereas while you are 'gathering information' on it you can summon for x seconds and its not as strong, maybe doesn't have all its skills, e.g. wisp only dodge/avoid 33% instead of 99%, working its way up to the 99% at the end. Also then when you can summon permanent they could gain experience... like you own a specific one instead of summoning a random, you know?

Could you imagine an aRPG where it was publicly developed on the internet by a large community, I mean this can turn out great, but one started from the ground up could be mighty... (ofc you would only release ~40% of ideas, to leave room for expansions and what-not... )

I see what you mean about the pets and teaching them skills. TitanQuest is a little bit limited here. The skills that can be used are put into the pets before, they cannot be dynamically "trained". Sorry

If you can't teach them, you could get around it by them all having a passive upgrade of each skill to each pet, then you can level up those skills to give them to the pet, you must be able to keep track to make sure they only have 2 or 3 at a time...

How hard would it be have charms like in d2? It could be an easy way of managing pets by keeping a charm in your inventory for each pet.

I guess so, if thats the closest game you've played. I think we've evolved towards pets learning them, but same thing still.

Edit: Just a side note, I think it needs to be kept in mind as we develop new skill sets that they should be designed to interact well with at least 2 other masteries, okay with 4 of them, and 2 can be a match made in hell... just saying because of the seemingly dedicated names of the masteries... feel free to shut me up politely

Haha why dont we just make a Pokemon TQ mod? And all you do is throw pokeballs at your enimies and catch them, and then battle people in the towns... lol sounds crazy to me.
