Default Corsair=Fun

I'm at the end of Epic with my Corsair and it's been a blast playing this character. Comlpeted a raptor tooth and got the slow attack modifier. Combined with mandrake, I slow monsters to the max and spread it to all the monsters with charge and batter. Got lucky and found a hunters helm so I can use Colossus a lot more as well thanks to the adrenaline tree.

Thinking onto Legendary, I might look into poison gas cloud or quick recovery or both to help deal with archer packs. Other than that, this character has been a breeze to play and is fun.

My favorite tactic is to charge in and follow up with lethal strike. It feels good dropping a tigerman champion before he can even cast battle standard or swing at me even once.

hey there dont see you in this forum too often

i agree corsairs rock, they just have 2 problems: they are very skill intense chars: well thats why they are so cool on the other hand and the usual defense problem: they have too many good skills: again that makes them knowledge intensive and even more fun to play if its what youre looking for.

poison gas just doesnt cut it. ever. the skill is only good on paper, in real life there are so many devastating secondary factors that its just never worth the effort.

i usually charge and batter, i dont use any - attack speed mods anywhere else, nightshade + batter do the job just fine. im not that big a fan of lethal strike so i havent gotten it yet, i prefer maxing out my aoes and poison first.

I agree corsair is rly fun! i use charge and batter, even if i'm thinking of going for knives, to poison before charging (i thought i would not need it, but i'll try it). i'm in epic grece now, i do not have lethal strike and i ve maxed mandrake/slow poisons. I found this character really depends on rally (inspiration maxed,1 point in defiance)... A question... I was thinking of using traps by spamming them when adrenaline/resilience is active..you think it will be possible?

It's very possible , as long as the % from resilience and rapid construction add up to 100%.

Yeah trap spamming can be easily obtained. I used that to kill Talos and just ran around in circles. lol. My resists stink too bad for a head on at the moment. Although I pick my shots and hit him with lethal strike now and then.

i dont mean to spoil your fun but there is one major flaw in that idea: adrenaline depends on being hit and absorbing the damage while most of the rogue tree focuses on you not getting hit at all.

traps, poison, flash powder, poison gas bomb, mortal wound do not go too well with adrenaline because these skills all result in you getting hit much less and thus making it hard to actually trigger adrenaline.

trap spamming is still easy to achieve, even without resilience

I meant generally. I had 100 recharge because of the hunters hat.

Really I don't have much invested in the damage avoiding skills in the Rogue tree. Been focuing promarily on lethal strike and poison damage for a more offensive build.

Right now, quick recovery is so nice with the improved armor and increased damage blocking of shields that I haven't seen a need for fumble and confusion attacks.

And adrenaline still seems to trigger quite a bit. Maybe I just get hit too much though.

Shields' percent chance to block has been *lowered*, and the block bonus from Quick Recovery has also been lowered (it used to be 24%) though Focus remains the same (18%). But when shields do block, they block slightly more damage.
