Default [Assassin] Calc.strike VS Onslaught

Ive tried both and i have to say i prefer calc.strike...

Reason being, i get max attack speed kinda easy anyway through items and enchantments so ardor loses its purpose, hamstring i consider mediocre at best. So with Lucky strike i think Calc strike is better damage wise

onslaught is simply more reliable and no matter if you need ardor or not, i cant see a reason to drop ignore pain.

CS wins the style war, onslaught is dull CS gives a cool critical hit feeling

I think Pain resistance shoul be buffed from 15% to 20% and also hamstring needs a good buff.

You are right about the critcal hit feeling, it feels so good to kill a monster in 2-3 hits then have the calc.s charge ready and send the next mob into orbit

I tried to give this question some detailed discussion in another post:
http://www.titanquest.net/rogue/7573...lls-avoid.html
Basically to summarise it, Onslaught does about just good a job as Calculated Strike damage wise (and it does it in a more consistent and reliable manner too) but it also offers a few extra bonuses such as increased movement speed and resistances.

Remember that even though reaching the attack speed cap isn't hard. Ardor may let you make the transition from sword to spear without losing any attack speed earlier(if you're already at 190%).
Also, you gotta consider opportunity cost too (the implicit cost of what you could have gained had you not chosen your skill/items). If you're easily reaching the speed cap, then you can give less preference to a +% attack speed, and raise something else like +%damage or something to keep you alive!

Dont forget the tactical use of Calc strike, hitting a mob 3 times killing him, then the forth on a very stron mob to insta gib him. And so on

And also don't forget those situations where more consistent damage kills better.
For example, the situations where, you aren't strong enough to kill a monster in normal 3 hits and require a 4th hit - calculated strike - to finish it.
With Onslaught, 3 hits all with 50% or more damage would be able to kill a monster in such a situation. So sometimes spreading out your damage bonuses between every hit is better.
It depends a lot of their HP and your damage (after taking into account resistances). So you can see that neither of the skills surpasses the other by much in this respect.
But then... Onslaught has all those extra bonuses (Ardor and Ignore Pain). And Calc. Strike only has measely Lucky Hit, which I showed doesn't become useful all that often.
And like I said, Onslaught damage bonus applies to every other phyiscal attack you do thereafter (Lethal Strike, Warwind) and Calc. Strike doesn't.

The only thing I think Calc. Strike has over Onslaught is 0 mana cost. But hey, 1 mana is really nothing.

Wahahaha!

Trade away the coolness factor of Calc. Strike for the power of Onslaught!

Also, there is something strangely satisfying about using Onslaught with a bow
