Default My experience so far with an Assassin.

Hello TQ fans,
From a little push by Rah_Pillage I want to share my experience with an Assassin build. My DPS is currently 649, which is fairly high for melee isn't it? My gear has mainly gotten me that high since without it I'm like 450-500 depending on what I take off.

I maxed out my Warfare level with mainly only dual wield skills maxed out. Early on I did max out Dodge Attack and Ignore Pain. For Rouge Mastery my level is only 7 but I'm now more focused on Rouge skills since I love Envenom weapon.

I don't think I'm fully using my Assassin as I should be since I haven't fully leveled up Rouge Mastery yet, but so far I can kill very fast for not using magic. My only trouble is from large groups of enemies and groups of magic users which I think is just because of Epic lowering your resistance modifiers. All I can say is that I'm having fun and looking forward to earning more Rouge Skills.

Great to hear that you're having fun. I find most melee builds to be more challenging than those that use magic (for the most part) and currently I'm only using melee based characters. I love the skill onslaught and have it on the left mouse button. Also, 1 point into battle rage for the possiblity of +50% offensive ability is hard to beat for just a point. Good gear will make a huge difference. Good luck with the build and let us know how legendary goes.

For my main attack I like to use Rouge's Calculated Strike since when maxed out every fourth hit will do 156% damage and 103 Piercing damage. Later level I will be able have lucky strike which will give a me a chance to do more damage with Calculated Strike. I also like battle rage since I have 6 points in that and will focus on the rest of the skills in that tree later. And yeah good gear is key. I kept dieing early in Epic until I finally got some better gear.

A good way to handle groups is maxed flurry of knives w/ Mandrake. 4 blades thrown, each with a 40% chance of causing confusion to each target they hit. If a target is hit twice, they have two chances to be confused. Personally smack any enemy that isn't confused until they join in the stuporous fun, then just work on bouncing between targets, keeping the entire group confused until the entire group is toast. Flash powder has largely the same effect, but can't reach ranged fighters or casters unless you close the distance personally and requires you to let the enemy surround you before use to get the most out of it. This can be very dangerous, considering how fast you can die in Epic/Legendary, but oh so glorious to send a half dozen enemies wandering around in a flash of white light.

I always ignored the knives skill. I will have to look into that skill since it sounds very useful. Envenom weapon with Nightshade is great too since it slows down enemies and with dual wield multiple enemies can be slowed, but confusing them sounds great! I also ignored flashpowder but now I'm eager to try it out. Thanks for the tip!

OK, I went through several changes in my character skills . I had leveled up Ardor, Hamstring, and Ignore Pain in the Warfare Mastery but I wasn't using them since I was not using Onslaught. So I got rid of those skills and leveled up Rouge to level 24.

Now I'm starting to use Anatomy which adds bleeding damage. Starting to use Toxin Distillation and Mandrake which further enhance my favorite Envenom skill. At first I did not like Envenom because it looks like my character has toxic farts or something , but it is very nice with dual-wielding since it can effect multiple enemies. Now, I think I'm much happier with my character.
