Corsair. Club vs. Sword vs. Spear.
I'm thinking of trying a Corsair for the first time. However, I don't know if I should go with Blade Honing or Concussive Blow.
I have a Normal and an Epic Sabretooth stored away, so I'm leaning towards Blade Honing, but is there a compelling reason why I should maybe go with Concussive Blow instead? Thanx in advance, everyone. Last edited by Zeus' daddy : 05-17-2008 at 12:31 AM.

damagewise spears can easily double the damage maces deal. your shield attacks attack with your main weapon too, meaning a heavy hitter is loads better than a light hitter when using batter. spears are the best weapons hands down

Concussive Blow isn't worth much in my book. Too small chance to activate. Go for Blade Honing.

I use Concussive Blow with two builds, Dual Wield Conqueror and Stun Paladin. It's just not good enough for other builds...

My Corsair is wandering around legendary at the moment (lvl 57) and using a rather luckily found Thorny Maul. I've yet to find anything that beats it, its around 1-1.5k dps higher than other spears and clubs that I've found... if I could use blade honing and lethal strike with it I'd be a happy man, so I am on the lookout for a decent spear, just not found one as yet...

Well, I'm lacking in good high level spears, so I guess I'll have to farm a little towards end-game. I'd be surprised if any of the spears I have stored away can top a Sabretooth, but I'll see.

Found one of those Jivebunny - use it for bosses (lethal strike funnyness) but for crowdbashing I prefer thorny maul for the faster speed. Having looked around databases on Gamebanshee I didn't spot anything outstanding spear-wise but I'll see what the loot gods bless me with...

a very good sword u can equip as a corsair for level 29 to 40-45 is:
Spartan Wit. there are insane modifier on it and it looks very cool  was very fun (monsters were flying ^^) when the + 379 piercing proc.get a lot of +%piercing damage  http://gamebanshee.com/cgi-bin/searc..._Items.id=1747
