Like the previous parts, Soulstorm counts on the already more than five years old “Impossible Creatures-Engine”, whereat the programmers achieved the feat to integrate flying units – on the sides of the Dark Eldar as well as at all other fractions. Thereby new dynamic should be brought to well known maps, even though flying units couldn’t capture strategic points. The interplanetary element of the second addon Dark Crusade will be reengineered. Now all races (except the Dark Eldar) only can change between the worlds by the use of special portals, so the disappearance near of a victory with a later return to the planet, when capturing is more easier, will not work longer.

I never played any of the warhammer games, but they seem to be delivering some nice rts-experience.

So, i guess its not a bad deal for IronLore and it will pretty surely get them some revenues...

Plus, if I remember correctly, they wanted to expand into the rts-genre anyway so it's probably fitting into their long-term development as well.

Yes, it is true, we are working on the Soul Storm expansion tp Dawn of War. This is the "stay in business" project I alluded to a while back. The team is excited about it though since we all love the DoW franchise and many of us are also Games Workshop fans. It has been a great experience working with both companies. We are also still trying to get a contract for our next big RPG and hopefully that will happen soon - I'm very excited about where it is going!

I feel all warm and fuzzy being able to bring you all this news and having a Dev confirm it. Been playing Dark Crusade non stop for the last few weeks and just came across that bit of info. Is Soulstorm gonna be "World Conquest" like DC or storyline based like DOW and WA?
