If they don't fund a new patch or two i'm never buying a THQ game ever again. Shame I already bought the full WH40k Dawn of War series after I got Titan Quest..

Medierra, Thank You for the update! It’s nice to hear that there is still a chance of hope for a patch . I, like many others here would prefer if the patch was performance related and light on the balancing issues. Imo if game performance issues were fixed that news would probably spread relatively fast. In which case sales of the game might actually increase again due to the people who stayed away because of the game performance issues. Another option is to release the source code to a few select fans (obviously programmer types) to help in the development of the patch/s. You don’t have to pay them (interns so to speak) just give them an acknowledgement somewhere and they have something to put on their resume.

Being completely ignorant of what it takes to make a game or support one I’m just shooting from the hip here. So laugh at me if you need to , sounds like you could use a good one. Hang in there and Best of Luck

Exactly the same here. The little rubberbanding I run into hasn't stopped me from playing the game...the only thing that has is 'sunny & 80 degree weather'.

My vote would be a quick mini-patch for the quest bugs (if these are quick & easy fixes). Otherwise, in due time, a performance patch would be perfect!

Yeah, I hear that. Unfortunately, it is not a one or the other type of thing. The design team could make some extra time for balancing but the programming team is flat out already. Small-scale balancing changes like just adusting skills or doing a little rebalancing of a mastery doesnt take too long either, unlike fixing the rubberbanding, which is going to require a lot of time for the programmers. Balancing changes also don't require as much testing since, while they could accidentally make the balancing worse, they're not likely to totally break the game. Tech changes have the possibility of totally f*@&ing the game up, especially a big change like the one necessary to fix rubberbanding.

I'm guessing that releasing just a balancing patch will probably only **** people off though.

Fortunately the weather is something that can be easily fixed.

*begins dark ritual to alter the weather*

I do hope for the best to come out of this.

But do not sugarcoat the situation.
I am sure if you the owner of a new car and you would constantly have problems with it , you would make a big fuss out of it.

Even tough Titan quest and Immortal throne may have cost us under 100$, we should still be entitled to proper customer service.

THQ "can" afford to pay people to do a patch.
Do they want to?
I am not so sure.
Why?
From the get go the game has suffered many tech problems that seem deeply rooted in the game engine.
Would a fix work?
Is it worth their money to patch a game and have no revenue from this coming in?

From a company's owner point of view. why put money into something that does not generate any revenue for us...

From a PR standpoint, yes they should fix the game.

But THQ Does not care because they have other cash cows filling their wallets. SO even if one game gets a bad rep for them, it does not matter too much since they have lots of good stuff to fall back on.

If this was THQ some time ago while the company was making it's way in the business, the company would probably hurry this up to fix the PR bobo.

On another point of view. I really, really hated Blizzard for not telling us anything about a new starcraft game which i knew was in the works.
We were told that the game was in dev for several years even tough blizzard firmly denied it until the unveiling recently.

I hated Blizzard's gut for that and i really wanted to hang some people for the BS.

BUT what blizzard was doing is that they were still supporting their older games even tough it was like real old in the gaming world. Even now they are still releasing patches. Which means that the company cares about their products...which seems to be the reverse for THQ and Iron Lore.

Iron Lore made a bad business deal, so why not get out of it. Borrow the money to rebuy your rights and get out of this. And move on to a better publisher or a bigger more supportative evil.

peace

Because it still is a great game with some minor issues ?

Because it is the decision of the publisher and not the developer whether there is a patch, and if there will be one this will be despite the publisher, not because of it ?

I definitely am interested in whatever IronLore puts out next, I definitely won't be buying another THQ game anytime soon tho.

My own suggestion for the patch would be the following:

Fix the drop system. It is horrible.
I interpet this as overall more uniques, esp. for bosses and I totally agree

I posted a thread on this a while ago and to resume it , i was saying that if i started out as a warrior and wanted warrior gears (i.e swords and etc....) in my blue drops and such types of drops ,the game would just give me staves for some odd reason when it came to drop good loot.

And it is the same with when u use staves the game will loot-drop swords?
Drops are random, some find stuff they need, some won't (at least not as often as they would like to). A slight nudge towards gear suitable to the char (i.e. melee or caster) would be nice but is not high in my priority list. Just improving the drop frequency will probably also fix this in a much easier way.

It is like the game really and extremely tries hard to "not give" you what you need in order to jack up your character slowly.
Not true at all, it just is random, not malicious.

I'd add :

- fix whatever skills are not working properly (if any), like Triumph

- fix quest rewards that do not work properly (hades generals, stygian lurker)

- do NOT change the skill powers unless you are willing to do another balance patch after that as well (imo it is unlikely you will get the balance right immediately and it is not that bad). If you do however, Dream should be a tad less powerful (adjust skills) and meleers in general should also be a tad toned down, or mages pushed up (via adjusting gear, not skills imo) - I would prefer the latter

- the one exception being Ternion, it should be increase somewhat as it got nerfed too much, either it should deal more damage or the rays should not be spread quite as far
