thanks for some info...that is really greatly appreciated...

not too sure who's holding back the patch but my gut feel is that the developers cant do anything if the owner of the game says no to a patch...

anyway its a big shame if TQ2 doesnt come out with a closed server because it certainly has the stuff to peg D2 back...anyway multiplayer is what brings in the revenue again and again because people like to show off and to see themselves in another world but no subscription fees please, i will settle for in game advertisements (coca cola health potions and pepsi energy potions )

if a patch doesnt come out hopefully the script can be opened to the community so that some (some) kind soul can work on it....

I'm not much of a complainer...
I'm a New Zealander, played TQ ages ago, forgot about it, started playing TQIT about a month and a bit ago (all my toons are from TQIT).
Personally I don't mind waiting a long time for a patch (though honestly I don't know how long it's been...). I'm a WoW player converted back to hack-and-slash...And I tell you what. It's better getting a patch not very often rather than every single bloody week, that DOESN'T fix the problem, and makes new problems - eg. can't connect to the game or can't change zones in a game without disconnecting.
Doomhammer server was nicknamed Downhammer...
TQ ran fine. TQIT runs like last nights curry.
I still play 'caus I love the game, and look past the crazed receptionist style rubberbanding.
I can only hope for a patch, if not, then I carry on playing the game as is, where is.

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. Hopefully no-one as THQ or Ironlore has lost one, and until I lose one I'll carry on playing!
WOOP WOOP WOOP for TQ!

Yeah, thanks for breaking the silence. You've created such a great game, it really makes me feel better to know that all hope isn't lost.

medierra,

I just wanted to say thanks for stopping by and renewing the faith of the masses. Since I first bought TQ, I have gone away for periods of time to play Civ4, NWN2 and Galactic Civ 2, but I always seem to end up back in Greece (literally back in March). Thanks for making such a great game that has held my interest longer than any game without Civilization, Baldur's Gate, Ultima or Diablo in the title... Not a bad list to be in.

I will admit that I am one of the fortunate ones who only has minor rubberbanding issues, but I feel for the people who find the rubberbanding to be gamebreaking. It is great news that Iron Lore is still trying to support the great game they created.

As a former employee of a now defunct small biotech company, I sympathize with how hard even the simplest task becomes when the funds and support begin to run low. I wish you guys nothing but luck and success in the future (I'm sure you would rather the success part...)

Thanks again!

And in the spirit of the thread, would it be possible to change the loot table such that relics and artifact recipies from previous difficulties might drop. Don't decrease the chances of present level drops, but include the previous difficulties in a seperate category.

I hate having to farm finished difficulties in order to complete a few relics for my character. Even a miniscule chance of something I need dropping would drive me forward that much more...

(Having said that I swear I once saw a Normal Hercules' Relic drop in Epic, so maybe my request is already included)

I do not want to incite a flame war or disrespect anyone, but all I can say is this is purely 'business'. This goes on at HAL and everywhere is Corporate America. Pointing fingers won't solve anything, only patience will. I hate waiting too, as I never had an issue with rubber banding until I installed the expansion. However, I still play the game on a daily basis. No one likes to wait in our society, everything is on-demand (sorry, poor use of a corporate term) and 24/7. I am very great full to hear from the Iron Lore (which probably got him into hot water).

Still a great game! (IMO)

I am so happy to hear from someone. I must also agree that even him saying they aren't doing anything about it (you all know what I mean) & that they won't be yet, still makes me feel much better. I hope his message will get even more people to start e-mailing THQ (I did a while ago). Maybe we'll get this thing fixed yet!

THQ Breaks $1 BILLION... story at gamespot.com.

I hope they decide to spend some of that on a patch for Titan Quest. *crosses fingers*

Thank you for the sit wrap Medierra. Well appreciated.

I would like to point out that this situation has happened before, with the game D&D pool of radiance 2, myth drannor. Basically the parent company pulled the pin on the developer and my impression was that the parent company would not pay the developer to develop any more patches for the game.
Eventually the developer went ahead and did a patch anyway which they where not paid for, but did it as a P&R exercise.

Now i'm not trying to drop any hints or anything here at all.........

Seriously, there is something us owners of the game can do about it. Media. Report the events to the media, places such as game spot and magazines. Even ignoring Medierra's "break the silence" move, ask magazines and web sites to report that TQ/IT which was released 2 months ago has game play issues that to date remain un patched, as a warning to potential buyers of the game.
It also serves as a warning imho to future releases that THQ are involved with. They are a worry if they are going to withdraw from patching their games, then we as the buying public should know this if we ever consider purchasing any games in the future they are involved in.
Where as, future games developed by Iron lore, I think we can consider for purchase, assuming it doesn't involve THQ off course.

If THQ are going to hurt us by not allowing the patch for a game we purchased, then hurt THQ right back.

It would be a shame if Ironlore crashes and burns after this. They really seem like another games development supergroup in the making, with actual substance (other than blizzard) seriously I have not played a game that has held my attention like this for years.

Last one was the original Everquest.
