Absolutely nothing, this (and the last one) have become a venting avenue for those upset by what they perceive to be Iron Lore's abandonment when without them we wouldn't have ever had the game to begin with.

There's things being said that Iron Lore needs to hear, and have heard (as chooch himself visited the last iteration of this thread multiple times). All we can do is wait for whatever's coming and hope we don't have to intervene in compensation, but be prepared to nonetheless.

At some point, we'll have to focus on how much we think the game is worth to us, instead of how much we paid for it.
Good points. I do disagree with you about what I think this game is worth versus what I paid for it. But I'll leave it at that.

Ok, so talk about the actual patch then?

Point is, (before i start venting again) when is it where the community will decide to keep waiting for a patch or when it finally becomes apparent that one is not coming? With only rumours and this silence we are all speculating into paranoia (spelling?) about what is happening? All it would take is one post. One announcement and the faith across these boards would be restored utterly. So much so I'd happily wear egg all over my face for what I have said so far. It would be worth it to be able to play this game in all it's glory.

Can the community create a patch for this game? Do we even know what is wrong with the game? Some players are happy with the way IT runs on their systems. Others like myself get rubber banding. Is there a common denominator? is is systems with dual core processors? lack of sound cards? )on board sound) They posted a thread asking for system information from people experiencing the rubber banding. I noticed a large number of dual core processors in that thread. Others have suggested some fixes such as changing force single processor to false and turning the mini map off. (none of this really helps me)

I'd really like to see IT run properly for me. The graphics and detail and very sweet looking and the theme of a click fest rpg based on ancient rome/babylon/etc is right up my alley. It is worth it to me to help get the game working properly, but what can I do besides vent my fustration at it?

Hmmm. Guess this game might be worth something to me after all. Shame I can't find my copy!

The actual thread was asked to be closed by chooch709, who I think is a member of the development team.
He said

We have all the information we need for right now, thanks to everyone for posting!
on 27/03/07.
It is now well over one month since that was posted.
Is it unfair of the community to be asking if this has been fixed seeing that apparently they have all the feedback they needed?

I think not

I love this game so much, I would just like to see a patch -- or at least a break from the ridiculous silence.

There isn't, though, at least not in Europe. "Good" is relative, though, but there are quite a few ... Loki's coming out in a few weeks, Dawn of Magic was released this week (I have not looked at it), Silverfall came out recently, ... there were some others that I saw from (I believe) East European studios. There are actually too many titles that sound intriguing. Titan Quest/IT is still the best of those that I have played (not counting Diablo 2), and Loki promises to be at least worthwhile.

There are soooo many WW2 clones and other game types that are just overfilling the virtual bucket with garbage and buggy ripoffs.

Silverfall was an ok game. I played it once and uninstalled it. Mainly because of the ever present mistake that too many companies are making. And that is going too far with technology and leaving the average person with little to do. the game has horrible performance problems. It along with NWN2-Vanguard *choke*-TQIT all play horrible for me. But others like Oblivion maxed- TDU maxed- Stalker maxed- Gothic 3 maxed-all play amazing. And I seriously mean maxed. 16xAA/16xAF at 1280 and 60fps is perfect =)

But I am ranting...

I am going to pick up both Dawn of Magic and Loki looks amazing. Hopefully Sacred 2 is better than the first because the bugs in that game were pretty bad.

Heres to hoping the industry gets better. And heres too hoping that IT gets a patch. (spirit of the thread)

Would it actually be possible for the community to fix this game if IL doesn't? I mean whatwith rights to code or blahblah... legal company stuff, you know?

Regarding what would be expected in a patch:
I guess all - or at least most - of us would really like a performance fix. So, optimization, yes, please. And then there's the broken quest rewards.

Other than this there are a few things that I'd like to see were adressed:
1) The pathfinding, or whatever it's called. It seems to me IT has even more "Dead Spots" than the core game. And by "Dead Spots" I mean when you click on something your toon just stands there doing nothing, and you have to click somewhere else in order to at least move. Glass-Cannon builds are more or less impossible to accomplish because of this (and performance, but anyway...).
2) Item tweaks. All of the new items are completely in a different league than the core stuff. A boost for the majority of the core stuff would be nice. Or a nerf in the new stuff. Same difference.

That's what I can think of as of now, but there's probably more minor stuff.

Over and out.

It's happened before, run a search on Wikipedia on "Troika Entertainment".

They just hacked it, I don't think they got the tools or anything.
