Yes or no answer please, and no I am not asking for information etc, just a simple yes or no.
Actually I think that this is a VERY unfair question. Sure it is the question we all want an answer to... But how are the developers supposed to answer it?

If they say "yes", then the flaming begins...

"If you know what the problem is, you should EASILY be able to fix it. WHERE IS MY PATCH! IL just doesn't want to patch the game. I'll never buy from them again!"

On the other hand, if they say "no", then the flaming begins...

"IL doesn't know what is wrong! WE'LL NEVER GET A PATCH! IL is worthless. I'll never buy from them again!"

Unfortunately, "No comment" really is the best answer. Medierra has already stated they are likely to work on the patch on their personal time due to contract constraints (i.e. for NO MONEY). I for one can't ask for more from a developer than that.

Be patient. Enjoy the game for what it is. And be thankful that IL is devoted enough to the fan base to think of us even in their "free time".

Just my 2 cents.

We did state in other posts a couple weeks ago that we do know what causes the rubberbanding. Unfortunately it is not an easy fix and will require some significant changes to the engine, which will then require extensive testing.

Just as I suspected.

Thank you for the answer.

I was unaware that you actually stated that you knew the cause. Last I read was that you had enough information etc.

Anyway, the reason I asked, is I would (depending on time restraints etc) offer my efforts to the mix if you and your team were going to attempt this as an 'off the clock' patch.

I don't know what help I would be though, as I mainly to web programming, HTML, XML, actionscript and java

It was really just nice to hear that in the sense that it isn't my pc, and perhaps one day I will be able to play this game again as it was becoming one of my all time favs.

And if I may press a bit for info (yeah, I know I said I wouldn't) what was the game written in?

Nearly all PC games are written in C++ or some form of it these days.

Some of the problems that people have experienced in the past were caused by bugs that were very difficult to identify but easy to fix once we knew what caused them. In this case the problem was easy to identify but it is a deep rooted issue with the way our engine loads content and will take some serious thinking to fix. Your offer for assistance is much appreciated but this is something we'll probably have to resolve on our own.

Another complication is that we lost a couple of programmers after the expansion shipped. We've hired some excellent new people but they obviously are not as familiar with our engine and it will take a while for them to ramp up.

Medierra If I can find a way to digitize ourselves maybe we can then go into the computer and fight this problem like some kind of modern day tron? Would you be up for it? It would of course run the risk of being deleted and Master control program would likely have no mercy...

After a patch (hopefully) please consider another xpack. After quitting MMORPG's I need something to occupy my limited free time. =)

But please fix what is broken first.
