I realized something in this past days, I just started playing in Epic(I'm at the Medusas right now), the sets that drops in normal are almost always the same, for eg. oracle, theban, labyrinthine..., but there should be drops from other sets in normal, at least on Typhon, Firewalker for example, this because some purples started to fall(in Epic), so I wonder when will sets like Tempest drop? If this keeps up some sets will never drop, or if they do drop they will be already "not useful"...
PS: Sorry for my poor English. |

I feel that the problem with the loot system and the rarity of mid-range epic items is this:
At low level, you can't qualify for mid-level epics to drop. At mid level, you qualify, BUT: As soon as you go past level 4X +++, your chances of legendaries increase, and this moves you away from the "window" of mid-to-high level epic drops. Once you go past this level, say you are in your 50s, only legendaries drop. And you can farm like a madman until you are 65, and you still only get legendaries. I.e. in the final analysis, in theory, if you keep playing the game non-stop, you will eventually find more (if not all) legendary items but once past your "middle age", you can never find epics again. This is why I've suggested that blue drops be allowed at high level. See http://www.titanquest.net/forums/sug...gh-levels.html

Here's another idea: how about keeping unique items (blues and purples) just that: unique?? Having more than one of a blue/purple item is just ridiculous. These things are supposed to be powerful artifacts, not something you can get in WalMart!! A minute or two ago (I Alt-Tabbed out of the game) my character found Charon's Funeral Wrappings for the second time. I also have two Fell Blades and two Pious Sashes. And that's just one character!! I'm yet to see most of the items in the game, and here I am with multiple copies of some.
I know that some folks like to run around with two Apollo's Wills or Thorny Mauls or whatever, but you can get that from trading. Why not just make certain that once you have a given blue/purple item, you can't get it again from a drop (as long as you have a copy in your inventory; once you sell it to a merchant or another player, you could get it again)?? |

I completely agree with you on the purple/blue idea. It's unrealistic and annoying to keep getting the same 'unique' items over and over again. I do like how the drop rate doesn't just hand out items however...but only because I know the caravan is coming. If the drops were coming at you constantly, it would be even easier to twink out all your characters. Now, if your magic user gets some really rare fighter armor, he can give it to him via the caravan, but he's not going to give him the whole set! Unless you farm with that character constantly anyways.
The only downside I see is for people that only like to play one character and aren't getting the drops they want/need. To them I say, roll a new one! Get to where your current character is, and I'm sure you will have gotten something cool they can use by then. Finally, if the rarest items in the game weren't that hard to find people would get tired of the game much quicker. Carrot on the stick. |

i only hope that the Expansion will finally correct the loot system....
and i hope that one day blue/purple items will be something to look for, i can“t understand how a green item can be better than a blue/ purple one.... it is not right |

Greens by basic nature aren't more rare than Uniques. Good greens (especially the superior ones) are in fact waaaay more rare than uniques by an order of magnitude, so I don't have a problem with them being better on a point by point basis. You still pay for that raw power with lack of resistances and the fact that rares (except Monster spawns) aren't as cool looking as most uniques.

But that's the whole point: it shouldn't be like this!! A green item socketed with a relic is more powerful than a Legendary item in 80-90% of the cases. There are some exceptions, like Apollo's Will or Thorny Maul, but if you look at spears for example, you'll see that there really aren't as many good Leg/Epic spears as there are good green spears.
IMHO, the situation should be reversed: a blue/purple item should be way more powerful than a rare for the simple reason that it's unique. It was the weapon of a long dead hero or whatever. It must be powerful. Currently my level 43 Brigand is wearing exactly two blues and zero purples (hardly surprising since he's only got one purple item...), and this out of 3 travel bags and half the backpack of items. The reason for this is simple: the greens I've found along the way are just more useful even without socketing!!. How crazy is that?? |

That doesn't explain why I can go to a trader and get a powerful Green item and then bang a relic in it. Whereas I cannot buy a Blue/Purple item at all, let alone put a relic in it, IF I find one.

On that one point I stand corrected. :X Still a PITA to find the optimal green by vendor hopping.
