Thanks V. That's great to hear. I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate that you are looking to improve the main game while working on the XP and TQ2 (did someone say that, jk), especially if they are not the type to run out and get the XP on day one. Me, well I'll be playing IT on day one, whenever that may be.

I thought You guys from IL mentioned that patch will be fixing performance issues like rebuilding occlusion mechanism and reducing some light sources in caves. Now i doubt it there will be sth like that and the only way is to buy new gfx card ://///.

I have a comment to make about the current loop drop (not just boss leaders). I've played my druid through legendary mostly on 1.15 and now i've played my counquere from start to end (through legendary) on 1.2. I do think the current loot system is pretty poor - not only is there too much loot but the quality of the loot seems a bit odd. It is almost impossible to complete a set (until you reach highest level) since the drop is so poor and you often level out of the set drop by the time a second item drop). With the new system I often find as good or better items in shops (yea seems weird) than via drop. I don't mind successive runs reducing drops but the inital drop is so horrible it is a joke. Obviously since I'm did the complete game I did not sit there and do boss mobs run and I still feel the enter loot system (not just boss runs) is very poor. Obviously this is an opinion and I guess some (many?) might disagree. In any event i don't think 'raising the secondary drop on successive runs' is the correct solution. I think the entire loot system needs to be revisited. (I should mention my druid is mid 50 (I think 53) and my current conquerer is level 56 - since level impacts loot drop)

I think the drops maybe need a minor boost at most. My L33-L36 1.20Oracle (the one I emailed IronLore) could easily farm Normal Typhoon with only the items she found. I farmed him 8 times (farming is borrring) and she was getting at least one blue item half the time plus tons of good relics (great for greens in Epic). As long as the 1st drop is superb, players shouldn't need to farm him for the blues/purples. IMO, Typhoon should not be a pinata packed with blue and purple candy like the D2 joke called Mephisto. True, Typhon is tougher than Mephisto, but just like Mephisto had the "moat exploit" Typhoon has the "stairs exploit"... aka he's very stupid. At least Mephisto would continue to chase you if you got near him and he wasn't dropping runes as often as Typhoon drops relics.
The problem of people having difficulty being able to complete sets isn't so much the drop rate, but rather the sets themselves. In D2, low level sets (and even few high ones) were easy to complete as: 1> many only had 2-3 pieces; 2> when first released there weren't many items; 3> D2 Normal&Nightmare were so easy usually you could often pack your untwinked character with MagicFind (attribute often favoring overpowered and/or ranged characters); 4> People falsely assumed that closed servers meant any item they traded for was probably legit... despite the boatload of 40/15s, Ith weapons, BotD weapons and Occy rings floating around... so they traded to complete their sets. Finally, the good elite D2 sets weren't easy to complete (even with farming), unless you traded(which could be a dupe... just like TitanQuest) yet you can find D2 forums of players doing 5000 farm runs for 1 item... and they post saying they didn't get it... but they kept playing and weren't complaining. The only class specific set I was able to complete (never traded) was the Druid's (which sucked). The fact I didn't complete the others (some which are quite awesome) always gives me a reason to go back to D2. Now compare that to TitanQuest sets which even the low sets seem to have 4-6 pieces usually, no MagicFind (which would only favor the overpowered builds more & thus not a good idea), and a few impatient people demanding to complete the best purple legendary sets (like Tracker's) after some Typhoon runs. And I have yet to see anyone praise a full set other than for appearance. I would like the Tracker's Helm and maybe gloves, but have little desire to find the rest. It wouldn't kill the game if some of the Legendary sets gave a +1-2Tree (or All) Skills for the full set to make them a little more appealing. |

I had 5 characters all high legendary in 1.15 or whatever was before 1.2.
65 spear conquerer 63 dual conquerer 56 assasin 43 champion 59 guardian The gear was all great, I had all I wanted, but it WAS from farming. Now I hadn't started a new toon in 1.2 till this weekend, and its now lvl 39 in mid epic as a bow brigand. I must say I now understand everyones complaints on the drops, as they really do suck, but I also agree reverting typhon's drops is not the key. Gold enemies: These are IMO the most difficult adversaries. Possibly make them carry a unique 80% of the time, but make them all 10-15% harder. Increase typhons drops a PINCH. Just enough so that he actually can drop items. CHESTS: I find replaying the game, 40% of my time ingame is spent opening chests and coffins, and pile of bones. It is INCREDIBLY frustrating with this nerf to the chests that I have found NOT ONE unique in 40 levels from a chest. Not a majestic, not a bone pile. Fix this. for the amount of chests etc you open, this drop rate needs to be looked at with the most importance. Its near half the gameplay, make it fun to do. The last point of mine I feel is most important. It discurages farming, as chests etc are everywhere, and with gold enemies with the best drops, it would double the drive for exploration. I find that those two things would fix your drop woes more than boosting typhon so ppl can farm him again. Nothing gets me more frustrated thean hours and hours of opening chests for jack, (as of now chests may as well not be in the game, they do nothing but provide potions) and fighting for my life vs some gold named enemy that beats the crap outta you, then give syou nothing when u finally take it down. This is my opinion, and I figure it would wokr much better than regressing to 1.15 typhon ideas. |

Problem with the drop system, IMO, is too many items compared to drop rates.
There is about 480 Epics in the game. Perhaps 1/4 of those drop in normal, over all difficulties, 1/4 in Epic Greece, 1/4 in Epic Egypt and 1/4 in Epic Orient. This gives 120 items for each category. With this given, for a 4 piece set, 1/30 chance to find first part of the set, 1/40 to find the next part, 1/60 to find the 3rd part and 1/120 to find the last part. That adds up to quite a lot of epic drops to find the whole set. And let's say, currently you get 10 epic drops from going through Epic Greece, with no farming. That will make it hard to even find 1 piece of the set you need (only 1/3 of the players will do so). Now, reducing the number of items is not an option, for obvious reasons. So I would say the solution to this problem, is simply to make it so that: 1. You have a higher chance to get a blue item which fits your attribute points/masteries 2. The drop rate of blues/purples in general is raised Quote:

Dito! On the fighting Monster Heros's and Bosses for zilch!. In 1.2 the drops seem totaly unrelated to the encounters! When you know that killing a boss or monster hero will be unlikely to yield a drop, WTF even play the game. Drops should be related to the difficulty of the encounter!!! There is no other possibility for a truely rewarding game experience( totally random drops are a bad idea). Nerfing Boss and quest chest drops was the worst possible fix for the poor or at best troubled loot system in TQ. Personally, I feel that the "Only" way you should get the best equipment is from the tough bosses.
