game wont update. Help

Hello.. ive been reading alot of the posts about patch propblems..
i have reinstalled 11 times now, i have never used any mods or other extra files. my install is clean, but the game wont update.
when i use the ingame updater, it jumps to desktop askin me if i wanna update from 1.01 to 1.30 when i click `yes` it restarts the game and its still version 1.01. I have tryid to DL the all the patches(from 1.01 to 1.30) as zip/Exe files. but then i get a msg that Engine.Dll file was not found.
I dont know what to do, and i really wanna play online..
So if anyone can help, plz do

Get a brand new Engine.dll here and try installing the updates again.

thanks for the link, but it still wont update,
ive tryid going from 1.01 to 1.08,1.11,1.20.1.30. + the standalone patches..
nothing happends. im still on 1.01

Have you downloaded the right engine.dll file ? (The one at the bottom of Soulseekkor's post, for TQ 1.01)

Have you put it in your TQ folder ? (C:/Program Files/THQ/Titan Quest (with default install))

If yes, do you always get the same error message ? (Engine.Dll not found)

If yes again, then I'm sorry but I can't help you any further.

/cry.. i have tryid that exactly. tryid the engine.dll with dl patch.tryid engine.dll with ingame updater. nothing happends. still on 1.01.
and no error msg´s

This is the easy way to go, if this fails, though, try the below mentioned steps.

Put the manual update file in your TQ directory and run it from there, it should work.

Check if your problems match, then :

1) Check the disk your game is on, it should be either C: or D: if not, then move the patch in your game folder before running it (if the game is on disk C: but the patch isn't in the game folder, then you might want to put it there anyway and try it).

2) If 1) didn't work : Try putting the updated files into your directory instead of the original ones (i.e. 1.30 engine.dll and game.dll instead of 1.01)

3) If 1) and 2) failed, try to follow the instructions on post #20, page 2

4) If even 3) failed, try to make gelfling patch yourself (instructions on page 4).

JuuHuuu.. now it works. i moved the path into the game folder and BANG
had to go from 1.01 to 1.08. and from 1.08 to 1.20 - 1.30..
online now
