screen remains black after title screen

after the two videos (thq, intro) and the title screen sometimes (everey 2nd time) the screen remains black only the tq cursor occurs.
tq takes all cpu at this time but can be killed via task manager.
restarting tq helps sometime but it is annoying.

is this a known issue an solved at this time?

I got the same problem but it happens more than once every 2 times and im not always able to stop TQ with task manager so i have to reboot every time , it seems to get worse if i incerease the resolution (always get black screen,though system should b able to run in highest resolution without probs)

anyone who knows how to avoid getting this ? Thx in advance

This is exactly what happened to me when I'd forgotten to plug in the additional power connector on my video card.

Screen would go black as soon as I hit the "Play TQ" menue page...

I believe this is because at this point the card was needing more rendering power.

You might need a better PS or check your power connectors.

Similar problem here, very strange thing. When I start the game I can hear the THQ logo screen but my monitor remains black.

What I have to do every single time I play the game is, prior to starting TQ I launch any other game. When the intro of that random game is playing, I close it and run TQ. The game now plays the Intro videos...

Strange way of solving the problem, but it works.

sounds like your system is having a hard time jumping from 2d mode to 3d mode with TQ.

The thing is I never had this problem before when playing TQ...dunno if its because of Patch 1.15 or something I did to my PC while updating my ATI drivers...

try rolling back your drivers and see if the problem repeates itself.
