Problems installing the 1.15 patch? Read this.

If you cannot install the official patch because it crashes upon installation, you have another option.
I have made another custom patch to help people with this problem.

Note: You still need the official disc! This is not a crack!

First try the official patches. Uninstall game, patch from version 1.01.

If that does not work download my patch at:

Nice work Gelfling.

I'd add some other suggestions to make the official patch work as well (which can be of some help for next patches, as if one of the suggestions I make work this time, it's likely that without that you won't be able to use official patches next time again )

1. If you use anything that would have changed game files --Like the modified engine.dll to disable shadows and night, or any other mod that would alter game behaviour? (potions stacking, ragdoll enhancement, etc.). --, be sure to put the original patch back (for potions stacking and other modifications that come with the same mod, there's a feature to revert to original files that the mod has modified): You need to have all the files modified by the patch in the exact same state they were after patching to 1.11, or the 1.15 patch won't install.
2. Get the manual update file (be sure to take the 1.01 -> 1.15 one)
3. put that file in your TQ installation directory (C:\Program Files\THQ\Titan Quest\ by default), and run it from there

If it still doesn't work, start regedit and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Iron Lore\Titan Quest\, then look at the Install Location entry. If it has a trailing backslash (being for example C:\Program Files\THQ\Titan Quest\), edit the entry to remove that trailing backslash (thus changing to C:\Program Files\THQ\Titan Quest if you installed on the default location, but of course it'll be something else if you installed it elsewhere)

Note: the problem with trailing backslash in registry key seem to be there since first patch, at least for some people upgrading from 1.01 (haven't seen any report from people upgrading from another patch yet), don't know why

Edit: Another note to readers. Please remember that this unofficial patch by Gelfling is unofficial, released "as is", and not supported by Iron Lore. You use it at your own risk, like any other third party tool.


update : another thing you can try and which works for some is to clear your Temp folder before trying to apply the patch.

I have double checked this, but I think it is a combination of software/hardware. I have another system what works just fine. Same OS, same language, same software. I have looked into the official patch and saw where it was checking on in the registry. I could not see any weird behaviour.
It would be nice if this would be solved by Ironlore, but I think there are more important issues to work with. Till then, I will try to provide new patches as soon as possible.

i have tryed your update put it al went well until i want to start tq then appears an error which says:
Could not found entypoint of the procedure ?Update@game@@QAXXZ in DLL-file Engine.dll.

so pleas help if you know something

Please try to uninstall the game, then reinstall it and run my patch. Must work. I have checked it here several times on 2 computers.

At the starting screen choose "Play Multplayer" and go from there.

You could always read the manual.
