1.15 patch won't install

Hi,
I have a DVD copy of Titan Quest that I bought at EB Games and I keep trying to update it with the 1.01 to 1.15 patch and it keeps erroring out on me. I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall and it still errors out on me. I even tried to do a system restore. I know it's not the system because I just got it brand new about a month ago. I don't know what else to try, every other game works ok on my computer and I have had no problems.

I really like this game so any suggestions would be great. Also, I checked the registry and it's fine. There aren't any backslashes at the end of the entry for Titan Quest. I have also tried to update it ingame and that doesn't work either. Also, I have no spyware or viruses.

Once I get home from work I can do that. All I know that everytime I try to do it , it keeps crashing and it's never done that before.

well all i can suggest is this:

save your custom worlds (if any) and your save games somewhere safe

delete your whole my docs/My Game/ directory and program files/THQ/ directory , uninstall, restart, reinstall, start the game and check what version it is in the bottom right just for reference, and then do the auto update button which should download the right update file for you

Thanks, I have done all of that, when I get home I will post what error it's giving me plus the document the error keeps refering to, which is probally a crash log of some kind.

Here what I can suggest:

1. Get the manual update file (be sure to take the 1.01 -> 1.15 one)
2. put that file in your TQ installation directory (C:\Program Files\THQ\Titan Quest\ by default), and run it from there

If it still doesn't work, start regedit and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Iron Lore\Titan Quest\, then look at the Install Location entry. If it has a trailing backslash (being for example C:\Program Files\THQ\Titan Quest\), edit the entry to remove that trailing backslash (thus changing to C:\Program Files\THQ\Titan Quest if you installed on the default location, but of course it'll be something else if you installed it elsewhere)

PS: I believe you don't use a no-DVD, or if you do that you didn't put it again after reinstalling. If you use one, you of course need to put the original exe in place (no accusation whatsoever here, but you never know )

Actually I already solved it, I cleared out my Temp folder and it installed right away. Must have been a file in there somewhere causing the problem. Thanks though for all of your help.

Indeed, hadn't thought about that Interesting thing to note, it might help others
