TQ Crash: GAME::Skill::GetManaCost + 79 bytes - Full log included

Hi All

Posting this to give whoever needs to know full details about this crash,
I've read the posts on how to report bugs / crashes, and I'm pretty computer literate so if you need more info, or want me to test something just give me a yell, I've backed up the char for future reference, or if dev's would like a copy.

so here we go.

System Specs:
Windows Xp Pro SP2, Fully updated (also tried taking off KB917422, as in other thread)
Intel P5 Dual core 2.66ghz
1Gb Ram (2x512)
Geforce 7600GT 256mb (1024x768, 32bit, 75Hz)
Onboard Realtec AC97 Audio

Software used:
Titan Quest V1.11
Mcafee Enterprise 8.0I
AC97 Control Panel
Nvidia Control Panel

Bug Type:

Crashes back to desktop on Skill Usage.

Bug Description:

Char: lv 39 Summoner, 3 wolfs, 1 Nymph, 1 Core Dweller.
While fighting Bull boss before the Jade Palace, Spam casting Regrowth and plague, staff attack while they recharge. in Epic
Keys used: Right click for regrowth, 4 and left click on bull for plague, left click for staff attack.

Due to the error in the exeptions.txt (see below but copied here):

GAME::Skill::GetManaCost + 79 bytes

I assume it has something to do with energy costs so, stuff that reduces energy costs:
Tranquility of Water lvl6: 28% for -50% energy cost (tried without)
Chromatic Staff: -15% energy cost (tried without, still crashed)
Seal of the High Priest -24% energy cost (tried without this as well)
Seal of the high priest -24 reserved energy cost (tried without)

Effects on character:
Heart of oak, with its 2 synergies, all at level 6
Heat Shield at level 3
Strength of the pack Lvl6 (if wolf used it)
Overgrowth lv6 (if nymph used it)
5 pets out (wolfs die easy).


Steps to reproduce:

1. Summon all pets
2. run to boss
3. let core dweller tank
4. spam plague and regrowth, shooting staff while they recharge, sometimes crashes faster then others.

Reproduces: 12 out of 12 (and counting)

I've backed up this char, so that i can test whatever ideas you have, going to try taking off seal of the high priest, and trying to kill the bull without heart of oak on, will update once i've tried this.

Tried without seal of high priest, no joy
Tried without Heart of Oak,

So, this time i was busy running from the bull and his shades as the core dweller had died, and it crashed as i was running, same error in the exeception.exe.

I'm now wondering if the bull itself or one of the shades has a skill thats causing the crash?

Also want to add, it has crashed at other times not just on this boss, just it seems easier to reproduce on the bull.

You should be happy to hear that I've just tried this dodgey char with the V1.15 patch, and it didnt crash!

I will try it a few more times just to make sure, but looks like that whatever was fixed, this was one of em.

Just need to find another +3 earth skills without losing any of the +nature skills, then everything will be level 20

Hmmm, seems i have another issue.

Joined a multi player game and it seems to start going really slow,

Task manager told me Titan Quest.exe was using 704,xxx memory, and a solid 50 CPU (dual core machine remember)
