Default persistant graphical issues in cities.

Just wanted to report some issues that have been around since the beginning and continued through the patches.

The most annoying, occurs usually in certain city areas of the game. Mephis in egypt is a definite problem, just as an example. When i port to that city, about 75% of the time i zone into a huge graphical lag issue. my character moves in jumps and freezes, the text is usually overlapping itself and unreadable, and it seems to be position oriented..I say this because I sometimes also get huge artifacts blocking my screen and they seem to be coming from a particular object..like a fire/torch in the city. If i move away from it sometimes it stops and everything reverts to normal. Sometimes just waiting in the same spot will fix the unreadable text issues.

occasionally the problem remains and persists no matter where i go, its so bad in some cases that i have to restart the game.

Can you post your dxdiag.txt file? This sounds like the game is running low on video memory after teleporting. Do you ever get crashes when teleporting?

I, too, had these issues. Lo and behold, there was a new graphics driver released 6.23.06 that I didnt have installed. Second, try putting every graphic setting on LOW/OFF and screen size 1024x768 (or even 800x600 to start). Then one at a time, turn settings on/up. I am currently running 1280x960, Vsync =ON, triplebuffering =ON (done in options.txt), Details =Medium, all others on low. This works great for me on my system listed in my sig. The biggest problem (from what I can tell) that I found in town was water reflections on fountains, but with that set to low, no problems.
