Default problem with new patch

System:
AMD Athalon 2800
1024 ram
XFX Geforce 6600gt 128meg
soundblaster live 24bit.

I have noticed my system restarts (this happens at randomly some times i can let it sit for 20 mins. and sometimes it restarts after 3 mins.)

This has just started happening since the latest patch. I have little to no problems with the game until now. I would get the random crash when exiting a cave but thats about it.

Also I have been running all my video options on low as the game lags and crashed and has video blurrs if I put some of it to medium or high.

I think a lot of crashing issues are related to overheating, to be honest.

Two things,
one - post a dxdiag file (please make sure its an attachment..if you just copy and paste its a really big waste of space here)

and two - if all was ok before the 1.11 patch then just uninstall and reinstall up to 1.08............

.............the latest patch doesnt have a lot of fixes and theres sure to be another patch in a couple of weeks anyways

Later today I plan to uninstall the game and reinstall and patch back to 1.08.

1.11 I think here has greatly worsened gameplay as I know have far more 'stuttering' and 'pauses' in action. THe game was FAR smoother before.

I used the same settings I had prior to 1.11 then I tried the AA in ini along with the sync toggle enabled. Was just as bad either way maybe a bit better with AA and sync enabled but no where as smooth as it was prior to 1.08.

However I do need to be sure it is 1.11 and not something else going on so the onlyi way to be sure is to revert. I will post on this thread later tonight or tommorow my results.
P.S this all with the Nvidia 7800GS using same vid settings prior to 'upgrading' to 1.11 from 1.08.

I really think it's your drivers. I am really not seeing very many ati users in here, and I know a couple people solved their issues by reverting to stable release drivers, not beta drivers. On that point I'd like to say I feel sorry for nvidia users as I'm always seeing them juggling drivers to make things work in games, which really makes me upset when I see an nvidia logo in the opening of a game. That is not how games were meant to be played.

The reason that you don't see many ATI people might be because we don't have that many problems :P. I got a radeon powercolor x850xt, and the only problem I ever had was crashes due to old sound drivers in the game. Oh, and I'm using the omega drivers (don't think its the latest)

I have an x850XT PE myself and I don't have problems with any games, including TQ.

The new patch caused my pc to freeze so much I uninstalled it and reinstalled the game from scratch. Problems used to occur at night, in caves or under heavy tree canopies. Now it's broad daylight and just moving in a straight line. I've gone back to using v1.08 which means I can't play MP.. which doesn't work so it doesn't matter.

Also, I have been using BMan's mods and replaced the Game.dll file with the original to install the patch.

I've been trying to take snapshots of problem areas and document the particulars. If this would be helpful, please let me know.
Fixing problems is a two-way street TQ is a wonderful game and having
it work correctly should be the goal for all of us.
