Default 1.11 performance

Hmm, did you even test 1.11 before shipping it?

in 1.01 multiplayer was just screwed up, then along came 1.08 which actually fixed some of the multiplayer issues wich at least helped me getting some online games going, but we still had the portal thing and a lot of other sort of gamebreaking stuff, then you guys give us 1.11 which promises fixes across the CTD board, but lo and behold, the performance drops to around 6-8 fps, where it was around at least 30-40 before, damnit, this just isn't fair. "There ya go customer, either play mp with horrible fps (unplayable anyways), or play MP with constant crashes and disconnects...

this is really too bad since this game is such a goddamn freggin amazingly nice game, it's just too bad that I can't really play it.

I agree, performance has been hindered significantly. I have a pretty descent system and this game really makes me feel like my hard earned investment has been worth ****. Instead of getting errors, the game has given me a couple houdini CTDs which is very annoying and I lost some items as well! When is there going to be a descent patch?

I am certainly running out of patience. If next patch doesn't improve performance, I am selling it rather than letting it covered with dust.

IL must also realise and cannot expect people just cannot sit there and keep waiting.

This got to be the most unreliable game I ever bought.

Not as unreliable as oblivion.

I actually got about a 10 more fps with this patch.

Re-EDIT:

I deleted to stay polite.

Cliffnotes:

Post actual information on the bugs in threads about the same subject.
Do not rant for no reason whatsoever, this board is the only tool the community has to report issues. Useless rants fog up the posts and VALID info is lost.

Also...
Of course they tested the patch before release....stupid question.

Performance doesn't seem to be hindered on my machine BUT I did get a crash to desktop all of a sudden. Before I would sometimes crash and get the windows error message after playing for hours but this time it was right away and I didn't get an error message at all. All I saw was Titan Quest then suddenly desktop. Very strange.

Like I was stating, ditto.

Also, perhaps it's only me, but I'm having some issues with mouse response, especially when fighting large crowds and playing via the internet, is anyone else noticing the same?

Patch didn't really have any noticible effect on my game. I get a decent FPS unless theres fire at the bottom of the screen/over my character. Olympus runs smoothly unless I walk in which case it looks like theres a bit of frame skipping. People running at me or attacks look just fine when I stand still.

I did get a stop error after about 3 hours, however, i think that came from my beta video drivers.

I'm getting alot of those crashes now with this crash. Usually happens in the first five minutes. Just crashes to desktop instantly.

The crashes don't display the standard Windows message box because the game is trapping the exception so that it can output information on the crash to help us track down the issues. When the game crashes it will generate a file call exception.txt in the My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest directory. If you could post this file or PM it to me it will help us fix the remaining crash issues.

The performance dips people are describing in this thread are surprising. The only performance related changes in the patch are the triple buffering option (which has to be manually enabled), and smoothing of the update timing. We have a very small programming team so unfortunately we need to prioritize issues. We are still heavily focused on addressing any crash issues, but once those are resolved we will start working on the performance issues we've seen reported.
